I didnt even play this game so. okay
a bite-sized intro of the full game from the Thief Simulator devs. You play as Jack, diving headfirst into the neon-soaked, VCR-cluttered world of 80s petty theft. What Works: Pure 80s Atmosphere: They nail the setting. Stealing CRT TVs, VHS tapes, and cassette players from shag-carpeted living rooms and trailers feels authentically retro and surprisingly fun. Core Thief Loop: The basics are satisfying. Casing houses, waiting for the right moment (or creating it!), smashing in with a crowbar or hammer, grabbing loot, and getting out scratches that itch for chaotic, low-stakes crime. Shady Characters & Jobs: The side gigs add flavor and purpose beyond just robbing houses, giving you a glimpse into the game's underworld. Driving & Police: Needing a quick getaway adds tension, and the police chase mentioned in the description works as expected – don't get caught! Free! It's a generous taste of what's to come. Perfect to see if the vibe clicks with you. Considerations: Performance (My Setup): Playable on my Fujitsu Lifebook U7411 (i5-1135G7, 32GB RAM, Linux Mint LMDE 6), the game is installed on a MicroSD card, but only around 40 FPS on the absolute lowest settings. Expect modest performance on similar integrated graphics. Scope: It's a prologue, so the town is small and the content is limited. Don't expect dozens of hours here. Missing Achievements: I really wish it had Steam Achievements! They'd add replayability and goals. Hopefully, they get added later or are in the full game. Verdict: A fun, free slice of 80s-flavored thievery. If you enjoyed Thief Simulator or just love the aesthetic, it's definitely worth grabbing. The core stealing loop is enjoyable, the setting is charmingly nostalgic, and it sets up the full game well. Just manage expectations for performance on lower-end hardware and remember it's a demo. Solid prologue, fingers crossed for Achievements in an update! Played on: Fujitsu Lifebook U7411 - 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7- 32GB RAM (Linux MintOS LMDE 6 'Faye' Edition)
