If I purchase and download videos, interactive or otherwise, I expect them to work off-line just as they do on-line. Sometimes I do not want, or cannot be on-line. Since this cannot be used off-line, there should be a large warning on the store page, "Streaming Service, App Cannot be Used, Unless Connected to the Internet." I purchase and download games and they work off-line, unless they are specifically on-line, MMO or otherwise. I purchase videos from Microsoft Movies and TV, and after downloading, they work whether I'm connected to the internet or not. If Amaze : Interactive Movies is updated to work off-line, just as it does when connected, I'll change my review to be positive and I'll buy more premium content. But until that happens, why would I make purchases, when I know that there are going to be times when I can't use them. When I was in off-line mode, I tried to launch Amaze and a blank white box appeared, that just said "Ok" at the bottom, and when selected, nothing happens. I made this same argument about "Electronauts", they updated it and it now works the same, On-line or not.
Valentine's Day 2019 Update
Watch my video review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/S71O-3NPPsI original review below:
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
So this app finally comes to Steam! This was one of my favorite exclusives on Oculus, but I'm glad that Vive and WMR users now also get to experience this. Amaze is a VR video platform that is different than most because they actually have good streaming quality and original content. They are head & shoulders above the competition. I should know as I have put in over 21 hours viewing their content (on Oculus, not even counting my Oculus Go viewing time!). I'm not going to lie, a lot of the content is Maxim style content targeted towards men ... so a lot of beautiful girls dancing. Magga Braco is probably the breakout star of Amaze. She did this video dancing to Despacito which got millions of views, except now the song is not Despacito. They basically kept the video and dubbed in a nondescipt song. So you new guys can still watch it, but it's not as good as the original. I guess just play Despacito over it and maybe the dance moves will make sense. There's also lots of pole dancing videos. My favorite one was Toxic, but they did the same thing and dubbed in a different song. Well, at least the pole dancing style TV show is still the same as the original. There's also beautiful girls doing other things besides dancing in scantily clad clothes. There's singers, there's fitness, there's dating a model, there's dressing a model (Ziva Vass, she's very popular). But perhaps my favorite is the choose your own adventure 180 videos. I believe 2 of them are free and you basically go on dates and if you choose wrong, the date ends. There's also premium content. I believe currently there are 5 different ones. I believe only 2 of them are paid premium content. Two of them are very good, two of them are just good, one is okay, and one is bad (IMHO). Stuck in the Middle is my favorite. It's a raunchy choose your own adventure 3 part series. The first episode is free so I recommend you check it out. Reminds me a lot of The League. The Willows is also very good but it's hard to describe other than eery & strange, like Twin Peaks. The first episode is also free. There is a lot of content there. But they are slow to bring in new content. It's not like there's new videos every day. On a good week, they will have 3-4 new videos. On a bad week, only one. But most of it is good. And it's not just Maxim style stuff if you're not into that. There's lots of nature, food, & travel stuff and even some horror (only one of the non-premium is worth watching though). And none of the current comedy selections are good (IMO). But you can laugh at the video comments or make your own funny ones! You can also download any video, although the streaming quality makes that only useful for offline or repeated viewing. Rate 8/10. One of my favorite apps. If you don't see my playtime increase here, it's because I'm watching it on another platform!

From (rather vulgar) comedy to (disgusting) horror, from dance to ASMR, other lifestyle videos, circus artists and all sorts of "reality" based "documentaries", Amaze is still offering the very best in VR entertainment of today. Free and paid. And it vibes California all over the place. Over the past two years I really appreciated Amaze on all of my Oculus devices, although the production of shows unfortunately seems to be heavily based on popular demand - at least regarding their own ones. It's very commercial after all. There's a creepy option to comment everything by voice, but you can ignore that. It's much better than one might think, and occasionally quite thoughtful too. While other apps are more often than not focused on aligned politics, Amaze is still free from all of that. You don't get public service announcements disguised as "daring" and thought-provoking information here. Update February 2021: I'm really worried about the future of this "amazing" app (no pun intended). Covid seemed to have struck hard on all content produced but even before the pandemic things didn't look good for the future of "Amaze". Most of the talent is gone now. Actually all the good ones: artist Summer Voelker apparently stopped producing everything when entering some kind of industry (like advertisement, fashion or cosmetics), Kristie Krueger had a very good show where she mixed cocktails and played board games but unfortunately only a few episodes were made. I do miss both and more talents like the magician Kayla Drescher, hoping that at least some can somehow be brought back at some point in time when this terrible disease has been successfully combated.
bien mai ou sont les sous titres french ??? ont existent aussi nous !!!! quelque titre français ou sous titré serai bien
This app doesn't know if its a soft porn or a curated vr content site yet. I would love to know why good content creators seem to be ellergic to vr ...or is just this app. The search function is useless unless all you want to see is Magga and her jiggly bits. Best thing on it for me was some lad trying to make an Anthony Bordain style blog but his camera is a bit bogey. Just makes me wish Youtube didn't abandon their vr app.
Basically Netflix for 180 3d videos. Lots of sexy content, some horror, some comedy, dancing, sci fi, girlfriend experiences and whatnot. Some videos you cant choose other than play/pause/rewind etc, but others at some points you can make choices about what to make and guide the story somehow, some videos are really cool. I think there might be something for everyone. They recommend you download the videos to have the best experience, sadly this doesnt make them offline, just helps with the performance. Overall id say there are more than a few free videos worth your time depending on what you like, even if just to watch a 4min video and see how it works. It really is a nice FREE experience. I havent played any Premium experiences, so, those might be even better.
Amaze: Interactive VR Movies was a Free to play VR experience. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Some of the content is locked behind paywall of the steam store DLC. There is some free content that did not have interactive experience. Looked like all the content was filmed with 4k cameras and better production value, so better than other VR programs out there of the same type. Might wanna pre-download the video before you enter the watch room otherwise you be watching a loading symbol for awhile. CONS: the Devs have Removed the app from the Steam store and halted developement the app. You can still see what content that was on the app, before the halt date. Don't bother to download this app.
Interesting collection of VR video to watch. The real draw Is in the Vr Visual Novel Movies. A very cool idea indeed. Choose-your-own-adventure Romcoms and Horror stories right in your headset! https://youtu.be/i3k9iJTXw2g
If a friend were to ask you what were some of the cool things you could do with VR and you showed them this, you probably just lost a friend. This app is terrible. The UI is fine minus any ability to recenter the screen (that I could see). The main problem is that over half of the videos are premium only and none of the things they have besides the sports and documentary stuff look at all interesting. It was like looking at a youtube page when no one is signed in to an account, just random crap and click bait.
