A short horror RPG game, if you like the genre you'll enjoy this game, maybe not the best to get started. There are some translation errors but fortunately it's nothing major, you can comprehend where the story is going. The story is kinda simple but from the first minutes of gameplay you can guess what a couple endings will be, but having a time limit to explore the house and do what is needed makes it more enjoyable, because without it this game would be too easy. Also the multiple endings add to the overall experience and replayability.
This game is quite nice, it's small and sweet. What makes this game give a feeling of horrors lurking in the unseen shadows is the music, which also enhanced the atmosphere of people telling horror-stories. I love how she talked about the gore part, the details are just a cheffkiss to the psychopath.
Good cheap game
ALONE, developed by DakeCraft and published by PsychoFlux Entertainment, is a tightly focused top-down horror experience that demonstrates how simplicity can be used effectively to create tension and unease. Built using RPG Maker, the game does not rely on advanced visuals or complex systems, but instead constructs its atmosphere through careful pacing, confined environments, and the constant presence of danger. The story centers on a man named Yeongchul who finds himself trapped inside his own home, pursued by an unknown force that turns a familiar space into something deeply unsettling. This transformation of an ordinary setting into a place of fear is one of the game’s most compelling elements. The gameplay is straightforward, emphasizing exploration, interaction, and decision-making over mechanical complexity. Players move through the house from a top-down perspective, examining objects, uncovering clues, and making choices that influence how events unfold. There is no traditional combat system, which reinforces a sense of vulnerability and forces players to rely on awareness and timing rather than confrontation. This design keeps the focus on survival and tension, as every movement feels deliberate and potentially risky. The simplicity of the controls ensures that players can quickly understand the mechanics, allowing the atmosphere and narrative to take center stage. One of the key features of ALONE is its branching structure, which offers multiple endings based on the player’s decisions. These outcomes range from escape to darker conclusions, giving each playthrough a sense of consequence and encouraging experimentation. Despite the game’s short length, this element adds a layer of replayability, as players are motivated to explore different choices and uncover all possible scenarios. The variation in endings helps extend the experience and gives greater weight to the decisions made throughout the game. The storytelling approach is minimal and relies heavily on implication rather than explicit explanation. Instead of long dialogues or detailed exposition, the narrative is revealed through environmental details and the progression of events. This subtlety works well within the horror framework, as it allows uncertainty to drive tension. Players are left to interpret what is happening, which can make the experience more immersive and unsettling. However, this approach also means that some aspects of the story may feel underdeveloped or open to interpretation. Visually, the game uses a simple pixel-art style that is typical of RPG Maker titles. While the graphics are modest, they are effective in supporting the atmosphere. The limited perspective and compact environments enhance the sense of confinement, making the house feel both familiar and threatening. Sound design plays an important role in amplifying this effect, with ambient noises and sudden audio cues creating moments of tension that keep players on edge. The combination of visual simplicity and carefully used sound contributes to a cohesive and immersive experience. The pacing is one of the game’s strongest aspects. The experience is concise, often lasting only a short session, but it maintains a steady buildup of tension throughout. There is little filler, and the game moves quickly from one moment to the next, ensuring that players remain engaged. This brevity works in its favor, as it prevents the gameplay from becoming repetitive while delivering a focused and memorable experience. At the same time, the limited scope of ALONE can be seen as a drawback. Its short duration may leave players wanting more, and the lack of mechanical variety means that repeated playthroughs can feel somewhat similar. While the multiple endings add replay value, the core gameplay remains largely unchanged, which may reduce long-term engagement. Additionally, the narrative, while intriguing, does not fully explore its themes, leaving certain elements feeling incomplete. Overall, ALONE succeeds in delivering a compact and atmospheric horror experience that makes effective use of its simplicity. It captures a strong sense of tension through its confined setting, minimal storytelling, and emphasis on player choice. While it may not offer the depth or length of larger titles, it stands out as a focused and memorable example of indie horror design, offering a brief but impactful journey for those who appreciate psychological tension and replayable outcomes. Short and simple indie game. It is more of a story focused game than a puzzle game. The English translation is not the best but I found it charming. Overall, I enjoyed it.
作为一个小游戏还是做得挺精致的,音乐也不错,有身临其境的感觉。
