A cute yuri visual novel where the two leads have great chemistry. As I've come to expect from ebi-hime, the story is enjoyable and has a nice balance between comedy and drama.

The game contains a very cute romance, with plenty of wholesome as well as dramatic moments. It is a really well-written story, and the characters all feel real! Kindly ignore the time I spent on the game lmao

Kinda giving me the same vibes as "My Dear Prince" and I loved it ! Mayo and Hijiri are a mood and I didn't think this VN would make me want to eat more pancakes. Recommend fully and would reading it again.

An absolutely charming and very well-written story. Mayo, a lovely young lady, always optimistic though not a university graduate, has difficultly holding onto a job for too long. She finds herself working as the house keeper of a successful writer; another lovely young lady, who in contrast to Mayo, is very learned and very much a loner and pessimist. The artwork is beautifully cute and delightful, as is the integration of several additional characters neatly woven into the plot. I must confess that I always find ebi-hime yuri novels exceptionally well-written and very much a pleasure to read and enjoy, and ALL THE WORDS SHE WROTE is a clear example of their brilliant work; it's simply a must-read.

(Note: I played a good chunk of this VN without internet connection on the Steam Deck, and there seems to have been some issues syncing my playtime as a result. This review lists my playtime as 3.5 hours, but my library lists it as 11.8 hours.) One look at my review history will tell you that I'm a pretty big fan of ebi-hime's visual novels, so it's no surprise that I liked this one as well - but given that my favorites of hers are some of her darker VNs (including [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/885640/Lynne/]Lynne[/url], [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/2355830/With_Eyes_of_Ice/]With Eyes of Ice[/url], and [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/2827190/All_Scars_and_Starlight/]All Scars and Starlight[/url]), I wasn't prepared for just how invested in this much more lighthearted story I would get. Mayo as a protagonist is pretty different from me: feminine, not academically inclined, and content to exist in the moment. I found these differences made it really refreshing to read from her point of view, and I liked connecting with her where I could, like in her deep investment in her favorite characters and her desire to help Hijiri. It took me a lot longer to warm up to Hijiri considering how mean she is to Mayo at the beginning of the story LMAO. For a cute slice-of-life VN, the characters' relationship starts off (and nearly ends off) shockingly rocky! But maybe it's this texture that made me so invested in seeing things work out. While Hijiri is (for the most part) the only character who is outright mean, both characters wrong each other in some way and have to own up to it to patch their relationship. The eventual resolution is sweet and satisfying and everything that I was hoping it would be. The art for this VN is absolutely adorable - I really liked the sweat drops and angry veins that would pop up on the sprites, I don't see those too often in EVNs but I think they're cute haha. I also liked the OST a lot, I usually don't pay the BGM in VNs a whole lot of mind but I paused to listen a few times because I found it very relaxing. Also, a quick note - I played this VN on my Steam Deck, and it ran well, provided that I played it in Desktop Mode. I was having some issues with the game freezing in regular 'gaming mode' and after doing some digging discovered that this is an issue with some older versions of Ren'Py. The time spent playing is a bit long since I took some time troubleshooting, but once I identified the issue and played in Desktop Mode there were no further issues. :)

Light and sweet and fluffy, but with bracing moments of acidity at times, like pancakes served with black coffee. There was *one* moment where I wondered if this was going to suddenly veer into horror late in the game (and the author's note on her main literary inspiration for this game being Misery bears out my moment of apprehension!) but no, this is not that sort of game. You never know with Ebi's games, though. It was a pleasure to read, with lots of moments of great writing, jokes, and emotional tone changes. The story is long enough to give the narrative time to breathe, and to get to know the characters from a few different angles. For me, this is right up with the very best of Ebi's work.
