its really good, like REALLY REALLY GOOD ! people like mandalore has already told everything there was to say, so lets make this quick
Positive :
- The mission structure/open world nature mixed with "real time xcom" is so good, its original, work really well and always surprise, its a very original brew but damn does it hit hard
-The art direction is on top, you would think that being in top-down view would be a challenge for the art but no, the sens of scale is great, there is ton of details everywhere, you never feel like the visual got compromised
- the game strike a surprising balance between action, stealth and quick thinking, all those parts work together and you don't feel one dominating the other or what, you have to play into all those parts, work pretty great
- very solid sound design, weather, alien,, music, very nice
- the overall idea of the game is pretty unique, i said it was "open world real time xcom" but that doesn't really make justice to the game, its pretty original and hard to find something like this, the game make great use of the setting (alien)
Negative :
- the story is meh, its not bad, its not particulary good, its meh, its not distracting and clearly the quality of the game overall allow you to just brush over this part
-A slight lack of variety when it come to everything, i kinda wish there was diversity in the alien bestiary
- the difficulty, this game has ton of fun and challenging moment, but toward the end you can feel that it run out of tools to challenge you, again its not a deal breaker but you feel it
- now the sad part, despite being great, fantastic, original and all the positive words you can think of, this game will probably never get a sequel and its suucccckkkss, cause a sequel is absolutely what this game need
Its sad to know that despite this game managing to reach for greatness, it will never be allowed to have another shoot at that idea, however despite that i STRONGLY recommend it, hell i even recommend it even if your not a fan of the alien franchise, its just that good, the game stand on its own with its original ideas and it stand strong alright, now pleaaaaaseee pleaseee someone make a spiritual sequel to this game, i beg you, there is so much more to be explore here
