Its a great game with free built in mods!
Alien Tag is very inactive and there hasn't really been any announcements for the game that say that the game will be discontinued. There are many problems in the game. The player model only showed in one eye and it was very weird and uncomfortable. Also, from what I know, the game used to use Gorilla Tag's own assets but with an alien player model instead. They did change the map, and there is custom map support, but I didn't know about it nor even see a way to access it when I played, plus most of the custom maps people made are just asset ripped from other games. There were also buttons in-game that I couldn't even interact with, no matter how much I tried. This would've been a good game, but don't waste your time on this, it's a really bad Gorilla Tag fangame that barely even functions.

This game is horrible
Alien Tag is a free-to-play VR multiplayer title developed and published by IRLDLC.COM INC that takes a familiar playground pastime and transports it into a bizarre extraterrestrial setting. Rather than focusing on deep storytelling or traditional progression systems, the game embraces pure social interaction and movement-based gameplay. Players assume the role of agile alien creatures and compete in energetic rounds of tag across imaginative environments. The concept is intentionally simple, allowing the game's physics and player interactions to become the primary source of entertainment. It is a title that understands its audience well, targeting VR users looking for an easy-to-learn experience that thrives on unpredictability and shared moments. The game's greatest strength lies in its locomotion mechanics. Movement is entirely dependent on the player's ability to use their alien arms to climb, swing, and propel themselves through the environment. This creates a refreshing sense of physicality that makes every chase feel dynamic. Learning to navigate efficiently becomes a game in itself, rewarding practice with faster traversal and more creative maneuvers. There is an undeniable satisfaction in mastering momentum and using it to outplay opponents during frantic matches. The controls may take some time to fully grasp, especially for newcomers to virtual reality, but the sense of freedom they provide is one of Alien Tag's most memorable qualities. Visually, Alien Tag adopts a colorful and surreal aesthetic that complements its premise. The maps feel intentionally exaggerated, presenting players with unusual terrain and vibrant landscapes that reinforce the fantasy of being an otherworldly lifeform. While the presentation does not push the boundaries of VR graphics, it succeeds in establishing a distinctive identity. The audio design similarly supports the lighthearted atmosphere, keeping the focus on social interactions and the excitement of pursuit rather than attempting to create a cinematic experience. The result is a game that feels welcoming and accessible, particularly for groups of friends looking for a casual multiplayer activity. A notable aspect of Alien Tag is its support for custom maps and built-in modifications. By allowing players to contribute content, the developers have given the community an opportunity to shape the game's future. This significantly increases replay value, as new arenas and experiences can emerge long after launch. Community-driven content has become an important component of many successful multiplayer games, and Alien Tag demonstrates a clear understanding of that philosophy. However, this approach comes with inherent risks. The quality and quantity of available content are directly tied to the size and dedication of the player base, meaning the experience can vary considerably depending on community activity at any given time. The game also incorporates cosmetic customization and community events to encourage continued engagement. These additions help players establish their own identities within the alien world and provide reasons to return beyond simple matches of tag. Competitive leagues and social gatherings add another layer of interaction for those who become invested in the game. Still, Alien Tag remains fundamentally a social sandbox. Players seeking extensive progression systems, narrative content, or a large collection of official game modes may find the offering somewhat limited. Its success depends largely on the energy and enthusiasm of the people playing it. Ultimately, Alien Tag succeeds as an entertaining VR experiment that emphasizes movement, creativity, and multiplayer fun above all else. Its accessible premise, enjoyable locomotion system, and support for community-created content make it an easy recommendation for VR enthusiasts searching for a free experience to enjoy with friends. While it lacks the depth and content variety necessary to stand alongside the genre's biggest names, it offers enough personality and charm to justify the time spent exploring its alien playgrounds. For players willing to embrace its community-focused nature, Alien Tag provides a surprisingly engaging reminder that sometimes the simplest ideas can still be effective when paired with imaginative execution.
