Alien: Isolation

Para empezar, este juego tiene una historia increible, enemigos interesantes, en especial el Alien, tiene una jugabilidad muy comoda y un extenso gameplay. Me parece uno de los mejores juegos de terror con modo historia que he jugado, platinarlo fue un desafio pero lo disfrute, me termine pasando 3 veces el juego en distintas dificultades y me sorprendio el cambio de comportamiento de los enemigos y como afecta a los recursos. En resumen, es un juegaso, recomendadisimo para cualquiera y es un solido 20/10.

best horror ever

While it is a game often recommended in the horror community, I find it highly overrated. I read a lot of people saying "it was too scary, horrific, I wasn't able to finish it". I didn't experience that. Sure I enjoyed the cat and mouse part with the Alien (though there is no jumpscare really). But overall, the game feels boring and too slow. Note I played in the recommended difficult (hard). First, you should know the game really is made for the fans of the movies. If you didn't watch the first two movies and also if you didn't read some extra explanation, you won't understand when the events are happening, you won't understand the lore which is very VERBOSE (a lot of text to read in the terminals). From the very beginning of the game, I felt overwhelmed by elements of the lore. So I paused the game and decided to watch the movies before playing again, to better understand. The game REALLY is slow to start and to get to the Alien part (maybe 4-5 hours if not more if you take your time, like me) and very linear. Then there is the cat and mouse part with the Alien, which is fun, I admit, but not really scary. Just like the movies, it is more about the tension and that's it. Then after mission 11, it becomes slow and linear again until the end of the game. The second half of the game is often criticized for that reason.

It's 2026 and I just picked up played and beat Alien Isolation on the PC, I have it downloaded on the Playstation 4 but never got around to putting any time on it because mostly I was too chicken, and put it at the bottom of my to do list. As I grew older and less things in life scare me now, I thought it was time to take the plunge back into the world of Alien, which also happens to be my favorite sci-fi / horror movie of all time. Before tackling Alien Isolation, I got a good warm up with the remastered Dead Space, which was absolutely terrifying and also one of the best horror games and story's I've ever Encountered. Alien Isolation absolutely delivers though in it's own way, being an older game than the Remastered Dead Space, it still has beautiful graphics and sound. The music is great and the story is just amazing! I love the story in this game and how everything in the game feels like a continuation of the first Alien movie. The Alien itself has one of the best Ai's in all of gaming history, and playing on Hard is really how you need to experience this masterpiece. I'm so happy that I completed it now, as the next title Alien Isolation 2 is right around the corner, so the story will be fresh on my mind.
