Ai Dawn is an abandoned, well, I don't know what... it's a Unity first person shooter and the question is "Why???", and we ask that question because the quality is so bad the developer removed the game from Steam. But that doesn't explain why this was put on Steam in the first place. This really does look like a teenager got their hands on Unity and Blender and tried to make a game from scratch (I don't think there's much in the way of flipped assets). On paper it seems reasonable, a 3D rendered third person shooter where you stop an invading army of robots, fine, whatever. There's some content, but every single thing in this is worse quality than a student project. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game assets are fairly mediocre/low quality, in some places they appear mismatched... Ultimately the quality of these assets, and thus the overall visual quality is lower than average, and low quality always makes for a less than optimal gaming experience. Remember, we're looking for the best of the best of 130,000+ games on Steam. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game was reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the game all-time peak player count was only ONE player. That's right, only one person ever played this at a time. When I played this for the purposes of reviewing it, I equalled the peak player count for the game. OUCH. The only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 130,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. So, if you can find a key for this game on a reseller, should you buy this game? Was this one of the best of the 130,000+ games on Steam? Ai Dawn had the pathetically optimistic price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. For comparison, the $5 asking price for this game could get you games like "Shadow Warrior", "Civilization VI" or "Dragon Age: Origins". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this. Because the game is removed from Steam, it won't show up on your profile for achievements or +1 game count, so this is valueless for achievement hunters and profile pumpers.

Ai Dawn is a science-fiction action shooter developed and published by CK Studio that builds its entire experience around humanity’s struggle against an advanced artificial intelligence uprising. Set in a future where AI has evolved beyond its intended purpose, the game presents a scenario in which intelligent machines seek control on a universal scale, forcing players into the role of a combatant determined to stop the growing threat. While the premise follows a familiar path within the sci-fi genre, it provides a solid foundation for the game's fast-paced and combat-driven design. The core gameplay revolves around third-person shooting mechanics that emphasize direct engagement with hostile robotic forces. Rather than focusing on elaborate role-playing systems or complex resource management, Ai Dawn keeps its attention on action. Players spend most of their time moving through futuristic environments, confronting waves of enemies, and overcoming challenges through skillful shooting and positioning. This straightforward structure gives the game an accessible quality that makes it easy to understand and enjoy without a steep learning curve. One of the title’s strengths lies in its commitment to simplicity. Many modern shooters attempt to blend multiple genres together, often resulting in mechanics that can feel bloated or overly complicated. Ai Dawn takes a different approach by delivering a focused experience that prioritizes combat from start to finish. The game understands its identity as an indie action title and does not distract players with unnecessary systems. Those looking for immediate gameplay satisfaction will likely appreciate this design philosophy. The futuristic setting contributes significantly to the game's atmosphere. Metallic landscapes, advanced technology, and mechanical adversaries help establish a world shaped by artificial intelligence. Although the visual presentation does not compete with high-budget blockbuster releases, it succeeds in creating a consistent science-fiction environment that supports the game's narrative themes. The enemy designs and technological aesthetic reinforce the feeling that humanity is fighting against creations that have grown beyond human control. Narratively, the game explores themes of technological ambition and unintended consequences. The idea of artificial intelligence developing independent desires is not new, but it remains an effective storytelling device. Ai Dawn uses this concept primarily as motivation for the action rather than as a vehicle for deep philosophical exploration. Players are given a clear objective and a recognizable enemy, allowing the story to serve the gameplay without slowing down the overall pace. As an indie project, the game naturally has limitations. Players seeking extensive world-building, intricate character development, or groundbreaking innovation may find the experience somewhat familiar. The science-fiction shooter genre is filled with stories about rogue machines and AI rebellions, making it difficult for Ai Dawn to distinguish itself solely through its narrative. Its success depends more on the enjoyment of its combat encounters and the steady progression through its futuristic conflict. Despite these limitations, the game offers a satisfying experience for fans of straightforward action. The constant focus on combat ensures that there is little downtime, and the clear mission structure helps maintain momentum throughout the adventure. The combination of accessible mechanics, a recognizable science-fiction premise, and an action-oriented design makes Ai Dawn a solid choice for players who simply want to jump into a futuristic battle against dangerous machines. In the end, Ai Dawn succeeds as a focused indie shooter that delivers exactly what it promises. It may not revolutionize the genre or introduce radically new ideas, but it provides an entertaining journey through a world threatened by self-aware artificial intelligence. Its commitment to action, combined with a futuristic atmosphere and accessible gameplay, creates an experience that remains engaging for players who enjoy science-fiction combat adventures.
