Agony VR

(╥﹏╥) I'm not a big fan of horrors, let alone walking simulators. But since I played the original game, I wanted to check how different my experience would be in the VR version. ヽ(￣ω￣(。。 )ゝ Surprisingly, the game seemed much more captivating to me than the PC version. Due to the deeper immersion into what was happening, screams and cries in this hell were never so stressful. And anasceles popping up everywhere squeezed hefty bricks out of me, but they never made me scream and throw off the helmet. (*¯︶¯*) I didn't have any significant problems with the game, or I didn't notice them. I recommend the game if you're interested in getting an unusual experience. On the highway to hell. ←~(Ψ▼ｰ▼)∈

Imagine the most vile, disturbed, and graphic depiction of what hell is. Now live it in VR. It is completely mesmerizing the level of detail in these models/textures/environments. Truly astounding and also a deeply morbid exploration of the human disgust instinct. Alfred Hitchcock's imagination be put to shame here. Whew... Finished a single play through and it's time to go back to church. The original had multiple endings and I don't think they are available in the port. Upon completing the main story normal ending there should be a option for succubus play through and it is not an option. I also checked the first "gold room" that should be available in the new game+ and the path is not open. However. are you looking for a definitive VR horror experience? This is it. Period. This really puts Dante's Inferno to shame... To the VR devs: Index knuckles should have the torches tilted forward (away from the player's face). Add some more comfort settings to appease a wider user base. You need to detach the camera from the head when there is a cut scene or moving over the bridges. (Attach it in front of the the player or to the wrist to watch like a movie) Those are hard to stomach. Allow disabling of subtitles Text behind the Shiva statue does not fully display Hard to activate the text parchments (Head or hand has to be held just right) You have to click the back button a few times on graphics to change it Add sound effect to stuff like pulling out hearts Have an option to remove the camera from player head during cut scenes Option to skip cut scenes Scale up the Red Goddess on the load in main menu (she is way too small and her mound is floating funny)

A chill and relaxing VR experience to soothe the soul and ease the mind. 11/10 Needs some graphic setting options. My 4080 can easily handle a higher resolution. Looks and runs great regardless.

Great start to what can be a fantastic VR game. Smooth turning is coming soon but I do hope they add a height slider. I dont play VR standing up that much.

Agony Vr looks great, two negative things tho, the cutscenes looks really weird, no idea if it's just me or not and the lack of smooth turning, which you said you will add under different review, otherwise, thank you for doing your games for VR as well! :)

Fairly good port to PC

I mean, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. If you want to see and experience the horrors of hell, this gotta be pretty much the closest you can get. There's nudity, there's dead babies, there's so much flesh and bones, burning people, demons, sucubus, people screaming agony, pregnant womans stomach exploding in front of you, baby with a horrible old mans head beeing fed pee, just so many horrifying scenes that makes your skin crawl. It's difficuly to put it in words. On one side I hate it, on the other I want to see what horrors awaits me next. The game is a puzzle game where you also at times will have to avoid the horrors of hell unless you want to be killed, and avoid traps. If you get killed, your soul can travel and possess another damned body walking around in hell. If that fails, you will respawn at last checkpoint and try again. The puzzles isn't always logical, and there doesn't always seem to be hints to how to solve them. I struggled with some of them. As far as graphics go, they are pretty good. The performance in VR could probably be better, but despite not getting a steady 120 fps at 5k, I didn't really have a problem with it. Normally dropped frames will cause frustration with me. The fact that the game originally was made for 2D screen also really shows. The controls are not great, the angle you hold torches doesn't align with the controller, you have to keep the button pressed at all times to hold a torch etc. It also has some crashes to desktop. But despite all this I can't do anything other than to recommend it, because the experience, the art, the creativity behind it all is amazing, and something I wouldn't be without. If there's a hell, this game made see how horrifying it must be.

It was interesting to explore VR version of Agony. There are some differences with PC version but I liked it. Overall, I think it's a great experience, especially the atmosphere of the game
