What an amazing game, highly recommended
"Agents of SomeCompany" is, at least, far from the worst game on Steam, and that's saying a lot. It's no masterpiece, unfortunately, but it's nice to see sincerely made games after wading through a mountain of Chinese mobile apps and Russian asset flips. I think it might have been a student project, but it seems like there's too much content, so this is a really real game! What is it? This is a low poly 3D parkour platformer/fighting game, an unusual hybrid, but there it is. If you're thinking "Hey, this is Ghostwire, but it's free!" then yeah, you get what you pay for. This is not a Ghostwire or Mirror's Edge in terms of quality, unfortunately. What do you do in the game? Parkour speedrun type platforming combined with sword brawling and shooting with a bow and arrow with a bizarre but unimportant and thematically clashing corporate theme. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D graphics which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. Most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's usually some kind of monetisation, from nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, to any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable, or something you might want to spend your time on. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Honestly I've seen worse games do better. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Pass on this one. There's no immediate financial commitment, but there are thousands of more compelling games on the platform that will give you a lot more enjoyment for your time.
