After School Murder Club!!

Плюсы: необычный микс подростковой драмы и детективной интриги; запоминающиеся персонажи с яркими характерами; стильный визуальный стиль в духе комиксов. Минусы: короткая продолжительность — история завершается довольно быстро; ограниченная вариативность выборов: решения слабо влияют на финал; местами неровный темп повествования (быстрые переходы между сценами). Итог: лёгкая и ироничная новелла для разового прохождения — подойдёт любителям нестандартных школьных историй и детективных загадок с долей абсурда.

After downloading, I got a pop-up from my anti-virus, saying it had detected and blocked something called ASM.exe. I was slightly concerned, but decided to open the game since the supposedly harmful program had already been blocked. After playing for around and hour and a half, I took a further look at the pop-up, and saw that the program was located in the steam downloading program files at the time of detection. I googled it, and it seems the program is spyware. Needless to say, I will not be playing this game again.

"After School Murder Club!!" isn't a game. It's an e-book dumped on Steam masquerading as a game. As a visual novel/e-book/fan-fiction, this has no notable gameplay. It's just clicking through badly written dialogue that would never be accepted in print by an actual professional publisher. How did something this badly written end up on Steam? When someone can't get published in print, they spend $100 and dump their high school fan-fiction onto Steam Direct under the guise of a game. We're square in the middle of weaponized cringe here, and it's seriously creepy and uncomfortably stuff. As usual, this is a high school anime club dropout fan-fiction. The author relates disturbing fantasies of going to a Japanese high school and dating underaged girls. Certainly this kind of creepy cringe gets people on FBI watch lists. I think it must be difficult to have an underaged imaginary high school girlfriend when you're not allowed within 200m of a school. This was slapped together with the godawful Ren'Py visual novel construction kit... enabling terrible authors to publish books as if they were games when otherwise we might have been spared the pollution. So, just like no professional writing took place here, no professional software development took place, either. Visual novels/e-books are the worst way to try read a book (and they're always written far worse than real books too). Imagine reading your favorite book, be that War and Peace or The Davinci Code (are you ok??), but you have to click the mouse for every single sentence that appears. You'd hate it. It's a garbage way to try read a book... and even if it wasn't, this still isn't a game. Now take that annoying clicking and add utterly cringey high-school anime club dropout writing to it. Real authors are published in print and found in Barnes & Noble. This garbage only ended up on Steam because they paid $100 to self-publish, because let's face it, professional publishers would not only reject this garbage they saw it, they'd take out restraining orders. There's no reason for this to be on Steam when it could just be a webpage... e-books are just a bunch of cringe text and (usually character generator created) static 2D imagery. You don't buy an expensive gaming PC to use it for something your web browser can do for free. Despite having no cost, this failed to appeal to gamers. SteamDB shows it peaked at only 10 concurrent readers. This is a dismal public reception. They couldn't even give it away. To satisfy the global demand for this book, you'd only ever need to print 10 copies. While this garbage cringe e-book has no up-front cost, you can find genuinely professionally written novels and comics at a public library or through websites like Project Gutenberg. Your PC isn't a Kindle, and I can't recommend non-game e-book visual novels to people looking for PC games.

This ♥♥♥♥ is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrible ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. the characters are ugly, the dialogue is painfully unfunny, and it took massive willpower to not blow my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ brains out after reading this ♥♥♥♥. As the great philosopher Chris Bores once said: "This game is the dumbest, most vile, repulsive, anal r*ping, fecal flinging, ass ramming, toe jerking, vomit inducing piece of ♥♥♥♥ I've ever played in my life! It's not even worthy of my time! And it belongs in the trash...." Unless you want to torture yourself or do a try to laugh challenge, please look elsewhere for ♥♥♥♥♥♥ free VN's that are actually funny.
