After five hours I can comfortably say I'd rather be doing something else. Even Reniel's ferocious set of abs can't keep me playing.
“After I met that catgirl, my questlist got too long” is part RPGMaker game, part visual novel, with a fully adult cast – no little children, not even as a minor side character. You will have to fight a lot in this game, and on normal difficulty some of those fights tend to be on the more challenging side, to the point that I had to lower the difficulty for a few early boss fights. The game also has varied puzzles, generally not trivial ones. It is also quite a long game, especially if you want to do all the sidequests and challenge / puzzle maps in the emerald maze. The first playthrough took me a bit over 30 hours. The game has a free 18+ scene DLC. I naturally played with that installed. As such, I don’t know how those parts of the game are censored – whether those scenes miss altogether, or just contain some censor bars. The naughty part is on the tasteful side, focusing more on the intimacy rather than some rough action. Also those scenes are all fully voice acted. They will take place automatically at several days intervals till the end of the game. Most visual novel parts are fully voice acted, but not all. Still, there will be plenty of voice acting in the game, mostly female ones, as the guild members will be female only. Two of the characters will have what felt for me like fake Slavic accent, though I guess Celia was supposed to sound french like (but still felt more like Slavic for me). There will be a few male voice actors too. The background music is on the better spectrum for an RPG maker game, each zone having its specific motif. The combat is varied enough, with a lot of enemy archetypes. The enemies on the map are pre-spawned, and won’t respawn as long as you are on the map, or sometimes the general area. They can be seen roaming, and if careful, you can even evade them most of the times. Even when dragged into a fight, there is an option to escape from that. One zone even suggests that it should be your default behavior, as the enemies there are quite resilient and hit hard. Based on my experience in that zone, there is no real downside to escaping, other than missing out on XP and loot. But during most story mid boss or boss encounters there won’t be an option for escaping. I you fail the fight, it is a game over screen, and the game has to be reloaded from the last save. I felt that the enemies are scaled to your level in health, but their attack strength scales to a less degree. Or perhaps not, but generally I didn’t felt overpowered even when traveling through beginner zones late in the game. And the XP from those fights was still significant. Your alchemist will have to figure out the effect of ingredients on the run, and early on the components for them will be sparse, but by mid game there will be a steady supply of them. You can even farm those in a pinch with one of her skills, though I rarely resorted to that. There are some stat increasing consumables, like nuts for +1 strength. The effect is minor, still, you should use them up from your item inventory. Only late in the game did I found out that one combination of buff alchemy actually restores some mana for the whole party. Fighting in the arena will unlock a custom shop with good equipment, if a bit pricey. This part is entirely optional, but after the qualifying fights 3 champions of the arena can be defeated. The reward is merely an achievement, no XP or special items from those arena fights. These are the single parts where the difficulty will be fixed, probably to normal. The fights can be repeated at will, though with no rewards there is no much point in that. The graphics of the RPGMaker parts is, well, RPGMaker-ish. The visual novel parts are reasonably detailed. Just check out the Steam gallery for the game, it will contain a valid mix of RPGMaker and visual novel parts. They aren’t cherry picked, the game will have such a consistent quality through most of its length – and it is a long game. Only one snowy village and the dessert part felt a bit graphically sparser. But the dessert part is entirely optional, in fact I think you have to beat the whole emerald maze, optional itself, to even unlock the path to it. I played the game in windowed mode, I think it appeared in a 720p window. I then upscaled it with Lossless scaling to full screen, with Anime4K upscaling. I assume it did a much better job than the inbuilt full screen mode. You can restore your life and mana only by resting at certain places, like a short nap in your guildhouse. On the field you will have to use consumables for mana, and consumables or spells for health. At a few select points there will be restore points, probably before boss fights, or places intended for leveling up. Leveling up will heal you and restore your mana. As such, I always kept an eye out how close I am to leveling up, and used up the mana more liberally when close to a level up. Generally speaking, you will be leveling up at least once a day. Later there will be a casino in the game, where you can win tokens. Those can be exchanged for some unique equipment, like making Sunny to throw dynamites instead of rocks. Theoretically you can stock up on healing items there for free, by buying those with tokens, but I didn’t resort to that. It won’t take much to farm the tokens on a 100 token slot machine, whose mood is fantastic. There are a few other casino gambling games too. By mid game you will unlock a quick travel system based on fixed teleport stones. It doesn’t take much to reach such a stone in a given zone. The difficulty of the game can be changed freely. Normal seemed like a reasonably challenge already. I didn’t try hard, and used easy only for a few boss fights, where I failed at first. The game autosaves frequently at various story checkpoints. When you are free to move around, you can manually save the game, there will be plenty of save slots. That means you can save right before most boss fights. Also, when doing the final part of the emerald maze, you will have to split your party 2 – 1, and won’t be able to exit until finished. The game warns you that it is perfectly possible to soft lock you in a situation when you can’t process further, but cannot exit the maze either, and asks you to make a separate save before entering, just in case. Also it contained the only puzzle for which I decided to look up an online solution rather than to try and figure out by myself through trial and error. There are a few possible romances in the game. If you commit to one of those, they start around the half of the game, and will play out from there on till the end. Those romances are not only cutscenes, they supposedly change how the game unfolds. In that sense playing a new game + will not only offer a new set of romance scenes, but also some new story routes – supposedly, I didn’t replay it that long. My original choice for romance was Celia – the least chosen path, unlocking for me some of the rarer achievements. After finishing the game, there will be an option for new game+. There you can choose another romance path. The game offers a choice whether you want to keep equipment and levels from the previous game or start with a predetermined story appropriate setup. I kept the previously acquired things. Then it will replay a few scenes, as if you have chosen those romance options previously. After this part, the game resumes with the morning of Day 12. But of course you are always free to start a new game right from the start if you wish. I played the game mostly on normal difficulty. You are free to change the difficulty when you are free to move around. It is a compelling RPGMaker game, with a lot of visual novel parts. Honestly I am not sure why it isn’t more popular. Perhaps the combination of visual novel and sexual content tag misguides most players, who might think that it is just a hentai game with little gameplay. The game was stable, it didn’t crash for me.
I have not even finished my first playthrough of this game (doing Reniel's route), but I can say for certain how impressed I am by what I've seen of this game so far, and knowing I've barely even scratched the surface. Sometimes it's hard to know how good an turn based rpgmaker game can be, but not only is the story incredible, the turn based combat is intriguing, blending familiarity with a twist of something new. Maybe I haven't played enough rpgs, but I find Sunny's alchemy mechanic to be super fun and engaging. I'm desperately trying to gather all the ingredients I need to test what brews do what. I also love that it's separated into categories like buffing potions, debuffing potions, healing potions, attack potions; it keeps everything organized so that it doesn't feel taxing or confusing to use. I love pulling up her alchemy book and figuring out what I'm going to use-- some I find myself going back to more than others. I like that the first time you use a new potion you're not sure what it is, but afterwards, it keeps track of it's abilities for you. I find this small thing to be incredibly accessible. So many of the characters are likable and interesting-- hell, even some npc's can become temporary party members, bringing their own brand of fighting to the mix. It was incredible. I almost wish I could have one of those npcs officially join my party just because briefly fighting beside them had been so much fun. But again, the amount of care that went into just some npcs is nothing compared to the beauty and diversity of the main characters-- the love interest: your party members, and even your character herself. You play as a charm witch, who is both feisty as she is serious about consent, which is so lovely to see in a game like this. It's a breath of fresh air to have such a sex positive character who's powers are about charming (similar to what the move set of a succubus or incubus would have) but to see that she takes her abilities and magic very seriously, and does her best to make sure that love is found through safety and consent-- through natural means. She doesn't like using her magic for selfish reasons, and only bends the rules on occasion if it's to help progress the story, to help the greater good; even when bending the rules in her favor she's still considerate by how much power she casts. To have such a sexually charged main character who checks with her partner's comfort before acting is kind of wild to me in a rpg with dating sim elements, as well as risque (intensity varying by whether or not you are playing the adult patch) content. I've seen very little games that blend sexy with wholesome-- that don't go the routes that other Eroge or H-games or Ecchi games might. Again, just really refreshing to see. I know there's still a lot to discover, and I can't wait to discover it all. And this is definitely a studio I want to keep a closer eye on to see what they publish in the future. I know they already have their newest game, which has piqued my interest too. All I can say is, if you're looking for a fun new, surprising rpg to sink your teeth into: It's not just the title that will hook you-- it's everything about "After I met that Catgirl, My Questlist Got too Long!" that will keep you engaged
This game is absolutely fantastic in every aspect. The story is good, the characters are good. The gameplay is good as well, with interesting party members and fights that are not trivial while at the same time not frustratingly difficult (Medium difficulty). The artstyle is quite nice and the voice acting is really well done as well. And yes, the yuri content is also good. Vera is a great protagonist and the way she carries herself and acts as a Charm Witch is such a refreshing take on the seductress archetype. Big parts of the story actually change based on which character route you're doing, and the NG+ system is really handy for experiencing all the other routes while minimizing the amount of repeat gameplay you need to do. Overall a hidden gem that I am really glad I decided to play. Absolutely recommended.
Tolles Spiel
Pretty darn solid game. The story is good, with multiple plotlines being based on the character you decide to go with. The plot of it was revealed early on because of the route I chose to take
Lyra
but that hasn't hampered my enjoyment going through every route with some consequences during them that can affect those endings. Characters are really good, with voice acting in their most important parts of their plotlines too and exceptional representation between some of them. Listing their arcs to the best of my memory.
Lyra is Transfem, who is a childhood friend of the Vera with their own story of acceptance and the fear of being socially rejected by both others, but primarily Vera. Reniel is outright Lesbian whose story when you pick them gave them a ton more insight into their own hardship and grows their character into being more than a background one. Celia is Vera's own imagination in the story, their own creation due to Vera wanting to be accepted themselves while having to put up a front the entire time, and honestly their story just feels bittersweet in the end. Sunny I never really noticed that character growth per-se theirs is one of having their achievements tied onto another's success I guess maybe they're an introvert? Tea is the one character I whose route I haven't attempted yet, everything I've seen of them during other routes is they will become either tied with Lyra or my main canon plotline.
The game is really good and can last a long time with characters whose depth increases with each route taken. 10/10.

Há tempos não encontrava um jogo deste gênero que me empolgasse por tanto tempo. “After I met that catgirl, my questlist got too long!” --- It had been a while since I’d come across a game of this genre that kept me so engaged for so long. “After I met that catgirl, my questlist got too long!” is a blend of visual novel and RPG that doesn’t offer anything radically new but combines its elements very well and treats both characters and players with respect and care. The eroticism (yuri) doesn't have explicit scenes, but it's present and romantically believable and enjoyable.
Insgesamt gutes Spiel.
This was a surprisingly good RPG, I enjoy the characters, interactions and story. Battle system was simple but with w a few interesting twists. There was an 18+ patch, but I did not use it, really did not see the need. To anyone that likes a decent RPG, give this one a go.
