*Experienced on Samsung Odyssey Plus Positives: -Visually very good looking game -Only 3 guns(keeps it simple - AR, DMR, Shotgun) with nice ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ -Runs smoothly Negatives: -No right joystick rotation option, honestly I don't understand how any smart developer would think releasing a game without this feature was a good idea. It is unplayable without it. This needs to be the ONLY thing they focus on adding IMMEDIATELY. No one will spend more than 15 seconds in a game without right joystick rotation. -No option to play against bots Conclusion: It is free, so I think it is worth downloading. However, I wouldn't recommend playing the game until they add right joystick rotation.
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/mdXbIJQDNLA I do plan on editing this review and adding some video of gameplay as soon as more players join the game (if they do). So far I've gotten in a few matches with only 1 to 4 other players at the most. It's been an average of about 2-3 players on though (including myself). While you do have to register (from desktop view) to be able to play this game, you can enter a fake e-mail and you'll auto join from there on out as I was able to do. So my advice, don't give away your real e-mail! This game is arcade-type fun and I do recommend it. However, it's not anywhere near the quality of the top paid VR online multiplayer shooters. The biggest problem currently (at least on the Oculus Rift) is locomotion. While there is full locomotion, there is no smooth or snap turning. Also, it seems that the full locomotion movement is buggy. It usually goes where you want it to go, but not always. Sometimes it just veers off to the side for no reason. Sometimes it moves on its own (with no press of the joystick). Movement overall feels floaty. There are only 3 maps and 3 weapons. With so little players, I've been playing mostly FFA and that's been fun although to be honest, the game is very basic currently. There are some skin unlocks and leveling. There's this voice-over announcer which we've heard in multiple online MP games before, but at least he's not annoying. The bullet physics is weird. You're supposed to two-hand weapons but you can 1 hand them without any penalty. Each weapon has like recoil, but it doesn't move in your hand (for you to control) instead you can keep your barrel steady with one-hand but the weapon spray will be spread out with recoil. It also feels like you're shooting lasers versus bullets. Bullets just don't have an impact. There are no grenades or stuns or jumps. You can use a load-out of 2 weapons, but there is generally not a reason to use anything else besides the full auto rifle. You can fall without any fall damage. You can crouch behind cover or peep around corners within your playing space. You can also run & hide to recover from damage (heal over time when no damage taken). So the truth is, there's probably no reason to play this if you own Pavlov VR, Contractors, Onward, etc. However, it's free and it doesn't have pay to win or lootboxes or anything malicious from what I can tell. Rate 6.5/10. It's probably the best FREE VR online MP arcade shooter. Just needs more players.
Positives: - Very visually pleasing futuristic - It's Free - Runs fairly smoothly - Motion sickness options are brilliant idea Negatives: - No right joystick rotation option, makes moving a pain in the arse... - Can only move forwards in direction of head facing - GAME WAS DEAD, with No option to play against bots
really no ideal. i got in looked good into i tryed to move. has no turn. you have to turn your self in vr. and that just really sucks i am running a rift cv1. tryed to load into a match no one was online. so i hosted one to see what it looked like.. no one for a but then someone joined in. i tryed to turn and my arms in game would lock up. i said na i am out. i well wait into they fix this
After-H was an attempt at making a PvP only, VR exclusive FPS arena shooter. The game featured painfully generic "robotS" or whatever, three arenas, and somewhat badly polished and incomplete gameplay. The game was abandoned around 2 years after being dumped on Steam in a thoroughly incomplete state, and never left Early Access. The developers realised the error of their ways and removed the game from the store. After-H was a failure. SteamDB shows the game peaked at just a low 27 players, which is a pitiful number, and never recovered from that low peak. For the remainder of the time the game remained on the store before being removed, the game has practically no players. Why did it fail? It's video game autopsy time! The developers made the terrible mistake of launching a multiplayer only game in Early Access. This is almost certain to kill the game. Most gamers will evaluate a game only once. If they do so when the game is incomplete, they will check it out, then abandon it (just like the developers did). When (IF) the game eventually does get around to release, there will be no players, because the developers burned the first impressions through their faulty Early Access experience. Players who saw the game and didn't like it because it was incomplete do not come back. Multiplayer games must have a large population if they are to go "viral" and succeed, especially without single player content to fall back on. Releasing a multiplayer only game into early access kills the game population, and thus the game, before the game even launches. The developers made the fatal, lazy mistake of believing that PvP, other players, would be an acceptable substitute for doing the difficult job of adding single player level design, storytelling, NPCs and other rich aspects of designed game content to the game. As a result of this choice by the developers, the game has little to no actual interactive game content. It's a little considered fact that the vast majority of PvP only, multiplayer only games fail. Developers must learn that other players are not an acceptable subsititue for doing the job of game developers and building a game filled with content. PvP only games must have a huge player base for them to "go viral" and succeed. But with no single player experience to add lasting value to a game, the developers instead chose to bet against all odds that their game would "go viral" without any actual reason for players to want to play the game. Predictably, they lost this bet. Finally, they chose to make the game VR exclusive. This is a catastrophically terrible decision for a PvP exclusive game. As already mentioned, PvP games need a huge player base to "go viral", and yet VR exclusivity appeals to less than 2% of the people who use Steam. Imagine, as a game designer, choosing to deliberately exclude 98% of potential customers. Then wondering why your game failed! It is surely a mystery.
say what....Free VR game...Yes please!!!!!!!!!!!! awesome game! the game came out today, seeing complaints about a small lobby, is funny.the game just came out today people, lol and VR unfortunatly is still a small nich, but its growing. Ill admit that he lobby was kinda small, about 6 of us were in there, but once a game got going, it was like Halo in VR which is exactly what I have been wishing for. Seeing complaints for no snap turning, is ridiculous, this issue did not bother me, just turn in you standing place, i guess some people are playing seated and are too lazy to turn around. So i could see that being annoying if you are a lazy person, lol, but this is a VR arcade game people, people don't usually sit when playing those games. i had a small standing place and everything worked great for wmr. I did try to avlr to quest and that did work so well, but my dell visor and wmr controllers worked awesome. My only small complaint was that it was hard to figure out how to actually start a game. Me and six others were standing around trying to figure it out, i skipped the tutorial, so it may tell you how, but you basically shoot the arrows to join a team. you have to pick a team, not like Halo that chooses for you. I noticed that you can change the players to as low as 1 vs 1, so thats a nice feature for when the lobby is small. Its still hard to believe that this game is FREE. This game needs more love!!! I instantly liked it better than Space Junkies and I paid for that game. I have a feeling this game is going to be big.... I do believe that adding bots would help for when the lobby is small, but maybe that will come later...So my conclusion is that its great and its free..what do you have to lose, ..just download it already, lol
