Early Access
No this game isn't in early access, and the last time it was updated was about a year ago at this point. That's pretty upsetting and disturbing. So let's go over the pros: The music is bearable.
TL;DR
Wait what do you mean you want the full review? Okay well listen, this janky slippery mess makes no sense, the directions are flimsy at best, signs don't work, writing is poor, missions don't make sense, walls are sometimes just illusions, enemies can attack you long after they have died, Quests reach a point where they don't tell you what you have to do, and the scaling system get's so bonkers that you can run into enemies and kill them with the damage from your shoulders. ♥♥♥♥ this garbage you seriously need to test your games, OH BUT WAIT, the company is busy, they just released a game this month (08/2022) and that must be why this awful hodge-podge is terrible, blocky, and controlls like you just put Bad Dragon ♥♥♥ Lube™ all over your Cheetos-glazed keyboard and mouse/controller.
Adventure War: Battlefield is a fantasy action RPG that embraces the classic formula of heroic exploration, real-time combat, and character progression. Developed by Gold Turtle Games and published by Gold Turtle Games together with Zygobot, the game transports players to the kingdom of Rotonis, a land threatened by invasion and conflict. Built around accessible gameplay and straightforward mechanics, it offers an adventure that prioritizes action and exploration over complexity, making it an approachable choice for players looking for a casual role-playing experience. The game's narrative centers on a familiar but effective fantasy premise. The peaceful kingdom faces a growing threat from hostile forces, and it falls upon a brave adventurer to help defend the realm. While the storyline does not attempt to reinvent fantasy storytelling, it provides a solid framework that supports the gameplay. The focus remains on the player's journey from an ordinary fighter to a powerful hero capable of confronting increasingly dangerous enemies. This sense of progression gives purpose to exploration and combat, encouraging players to continue pushing forward through the game's various challenges. Character development plays a significant role throughout the adventure. Players are able to choose between different hero types, each bringing distinct strengths and combat styles to the battlefield. Some classes emphasize durability and survivability, allowing them to absorb damage and stand firm against powerful enemies. Others focus on offense, delivering stronger attacks at the cost of defensive capabilities. This variety helps prevent the experience from becoming repetitive and gives players the freedom to select an approach that best matches their preferred style of play. Combat is where the majority of the gameplay takes place. Battles unfold in real time, requiring players to engage enemies directly while making use of abilities, attacks, and character upgrades. The combat system is designed to be easy to understand, allowing newcomers to jump into the action without facing an intimidating learning curve. Defeating enemies rewards players with experience and resources that can be used to strengthen their characters, creating a satisfying progression loop that continually reinforces the desire to explore further and take on tougher opponents. The open-world design contributes greatly to the feeling of adventure. Rather than following a strictly linear path, players can travel across different areas, interact with non-player characters, and discover quests throughout the kingdom. This freedom helps create a sense of scale and encourages curiosity. Exploring the world often leads to new opportunities for combat, rewards, and character growth. Although the world itself is not as massive or detailed as those found in larger RPG productions, it succeeds in delivering the feeling of embarking on a fantasy journey. Questing serves as another important component of the experience. The game provides a variety of tasks that help flesh out the world while offering rewards and progression opportunities. These objectives range from defeating enemies to assisting characters throughout the kingdom. While many of the quests follow familiar RPG structures, they help maintain momentum and provide a steady stream of goals that keep players engaged throughout their adventure. Visually, Adventure War: Battlefield adopts a simple presentation that reflects its indie origins. The graphics are functional and colorful, prioritizing readability and accessibility over technical ambition. Character models, environments, and effects may lack the sophistication of larger-budget role-playing games, but they serve their purpose adequately. The visual design complements the game's straightforward nature and allows players to focus on exploration and combat without unnecessary distractions. One of the game's strongest qualities is its accessibility. Many modern RPGs can overwhelm players with complicated systems, extensive crafting mechanics, or intricate progression trees. Adventure War: Battlefield takes a more streamlined approach, making it easy for players to understand its systems and begin enjoying the experience quickly. This simplicity makes it particularly appealing to those who want a relaxed fantasy adventure rather than a deeply demanding role-playing experience. The game does show the limitations of a smaller-scale production. Some mechanics lack the depth found in more established RPG franchises, and the overall experience can occasionally feel basic compared to genre heavyweights. However, these shortcomings are balanced by the game's approachable design and its commitment to providing an enjoyable fantasy adventure without excessive complexity. For players willing to accept its modest scope, there is genuine enjoyment to be found in its exploration, combat, and progression systems. Ultimately, Adventure War: Battlefield succeeds as a lightweight action RPG that delivers exactly what it promises. It offers a fantasy world to explore, enemies to defeat, heroes to develop, and quests to complete, all wrapped in an accessible package that welcomes players of varying experience levels. While it may not redefine the genre or compete with major RPG blockbusters, it provides a solid and entertaining adventure that captures the spirit of classic fantasy role-playing games. For fans of straightforward action RPGs and open-world exploration, it offers a worthwhile journey through the kingdom of Rotonis. Rating: 6/10

Had a little Walkthrough... Since it is really really early access, a lot of work has to be done. Mechanics are pretty nicely done. I like the graphic style a lot. Main Problems here: no minimap, no jumping, camera rotation, more attack moves maybe? Basically thats it. It would be very nice to see KI for the enemies, a lot more natural random walks for the NPCs and a lot more.. but i really liked the impression of the game... keep on going! Ive uploaded a little walktrough on Youtube and hope thats fine... its in german btw
