Do not play this time waster.
AdVenture Capitalist is the worst of its kind in the idle genre. The gameplay loop is mindless and boring. Progression is slow no matter if you have an active or passive playstyle. It counts on your brain not wanting anything more than the dopamine hit of "number go up". It's addictive in only the worst ways. There are far better idle games that at least pretend to respect your time. This game hates you. Live events are a joke. Some have unique gimmicks, but are ultimately just another lazy way for the devs to keep your game open. Leaderboards are rife with cheating and offer rewards that are disproportionately low compared to the effort required. This game pushes microtransactions HARD. It's suffocating. Meaningful progression is practically impossible without spending money and the devs know it. For dedicated players, avoiding in-game purchases effectively becomes a core game mechanic. Despite the satirical-looking name, the execution isn't a parody of capitalism; it is a very literal, predatory implementation of it with a cartoon artstyle. My brain loves incremental games. This one actively harmed mine.

Heed my warning, getting all achievements in this game isn't "fun", it's a test of mental endurance and is one of the most hellish tasks anyone could take upon themselves. aside from that the game's ok i guess
Won't even launch anymore. Just pops up a resolution error every time it starts regardless of what resolution is selected.
I played this game for the first time years ago and dropped it but recently I picked it up again and I'm totally addicted like the first time I ever played adVenture capitalist. The art style is unique and pleasant to look at. I love the UI design, and I enjoy playing grindy games like this. I would totally recommend it to players who are into games like this and to players who are interesting in trying it. 10/10 game :D
The game itself is fine, but the inability to restart your game without having to actually go into game files and delete saved games and such is obnoxious (on a laptop). I am not a programmer, I just want to start my effing game over that I haven't played in 2 years. No one would want to come back to a game they liked years later and be forced to pick back up where you left off....one wouldn't even remember the controls let alone the strategies!! So enjoy it on your first run, because that's the only one you get.

Have had this game on Playstation and now Steam. Same game different console. Spend money make money, reset, repeat. Nothing more to say. Corporal out.
Adventure Capitalist was probably the first incremental game I ever heard about and it was a fun one. It's hard to really pinpoint what makes an incremental game enjoyable but I think the combo of music, simple yet fun design and absurdism of the numbers and things you could blow out of proportion in this game made it way more enjoyable than it had any right to be. There are also these timed events that let you multiply your profits by clicking as long as you can and I vividly remember maintaining a 14 second timer active over an hour just by clicking which dramatically reduced the time I took to 100%. I wouldn't advise anyone to do the same, your wrist will hate you.
