About
This is an old version of Adapta Solva, one we made during our studies at Howest Digital Arts & Entertainment, there are a lot of issues with this version of the game, especially on terms of performance and clarity.
We, Para Fauna Studios, want to inform our players that we are working on a new and improved version of Adapta Solva, where the issues mentioned above have been addressed. Alongside a huge update on gameplay, level design, game feel and flow and story.
Absorb elements from magical shrines to solve puzzles and overcome obstacles in this cute and short little adventure where you follow a magical creature in a world laid to ruin by an unknown cause.

On your adventure you can collect any of the following three elements from different elemental shrines and use their unique properties and abilities to solve the puzzles and unlock the next areas.
Stone is the heaviest and the strongest of the elements, use your ground slam or punch ability to break certain walls and floors or to punch heavy boulders around
Slime is a sticky but bouncy element, use it to jump higher, pass through grates and climb up sticky walls. You can also leave behind a gooey slimeball that will disappear after a short time. You also have to be careful though, since slime isn't fully solid it will dissolve into water!
Crystal is the final collectable element and it's surprisingly slippery, use it to crystalize bodies of water so you can walk across and be able to push boulders and slimeballs on top of it.

Uncover the mysteries as you follow a magical creature capable of absorbing elements from magical shrines, as they uncover more and more about how they were created and why the world has fallen into ruin. Explore your surroundings to find ancient artifacts and items from the locals as well as murals drawn by the ancient civilization that depict the story of world.
This game was made by 6 students as a group project assignment for their third year at Digital Arts & Entertainment at Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen in Belgium. We want to give a special thanks to our supervisors, Dave Van Verdegem and Tristan Clarysse who helped us through the 11 week process of making the game.

no settings in the main menu besides languages, no settings besides music and sfx volume in the pause menu. controls aren't rebindable, only wasd moves, arrows are for the camera, which shouldn't even be necessary with a decent and fixed angle. options are good but not like this. and no mouse support at all in a pc game, nor does the game save on exit, yet they wasted time on adding the always annoying typewriter effect for text, one of the slowest I've ever seen too, letter by letter, without the possibility to make it appear faster or instantly. it could've been something decent, short as it is, and yes, it could be even worse too, but either would take some work and these lazy amateurs are clearly not about that, only do less than the absolute minimum to get a passing grade at school. that or simply none of the 6 kids, nor their teacher have a single clue about basic functionality, so free or not, don't bother. as an aside, another weird thing. there's this obey the fist clown downvoting literally everything (many of them deservedly so, but he chooses to only play absolute trash), often for very petty reasons like having pixel graphics, or reasons that aren't even true, based on his clueless and false assumptions, yet he approves of this. he's always on about no gfx settings, resolutions and whatnot, some good things to care about, except this game doesn't have any either, yet he speaks of 'professional production quality.' must be a joke or he must know somebody behind this trainwreck because I don't think there's another one of his 1.5k reviews that is positive, though I obviously didn't wade through all of them.

"Adapta Solva" is a short student project from DAE. It's a cute but short 3D platformer with a lot of puzzle elements. While the consoley gameplay and less than bleeding edge graphics might put some off, the free nature of the game and generally professional production quality makes this a reasonable download if you have half an hour to spare for a different kind of gaming experience. It's always nice to see when students pass the course. Hopefully they move on to make real PC games.
