Amazing game, would recommend to anyone, smooth gameplay, really nice areas, amazing story. 200 hours in and I've still not even gotten half way through everything. Very well optimised and no game breaking bugs (that I've found anyway, some little funny ones sure) and a Dev team that listens to the players when making new content and changing things in the game to make it better. Absolute Science!
I'm writing my first ever Steam review in my 35 years of gaming because this game deserves every single ounce of exposure it can get. It's tragic how under-marketed this incredible experience has been. Others talk about the themes and mechanics a lot here, so I'll just say this: I had this on the backburner wishlist for almost a year before basically pity-buying it in a lull. I'm kind of a graphics snob and have been jaded by the direction the industry has been going for so long now. When I hit the store page for this game searching for a new survival crafter I thought it would be one of those weird titles that started out as a drunken elevator pitch, leans too hard into its own gimmicks, and winds up being hollow in every way that makes a game good. You know the type. But this game makes me feel like it was made with love just for me by people who love the same things I do. I'm a no-lifer who's played hundreds of games and I haven't felt that in... at least a decade? The passion poured into the exploration, lore, humor, and many other elements is palpable. I feel like I'm playing art again the same way I did so often when I was younger, and so rarely do anymore. It is so rare for a linear, story-driven game to feel vast and deep; to capture the thrill of exploration and discovery to the point that even when you hit an email terminal at the end of the secret path you took convinced you'd find a game-breaking piece of kit you're still excited to find new details on that IS you're intrigued by despite never even having seen it. It's definitely not perfect, though: Skill progression is all over the place. Ranged combat has some really great ideas but its progression isn't well-balanced and the ammo scarcity that would be a good mechanic just pushes you away from the concept as a whole since there isn't enough variety. There are definitely bugs, but they're only ever quirky and don't really affect gameplay. If I had other gamer friends I would force them to buy this game just to give the developers money for making something so good in this age of slop and, more importantly, so resplendently up my alley. Thank you, Deep Field. Never forget the fun and the dedication to the craft you put into this work. May your feet ever trod in the radiance of IS-1057.
First off -- to the Devs -- thanks for this Labor of Love. TL DR: Hans down one of the best games of I've played in recent years. A beautiful Homage to not only Half Life but a whole genere of Crafting & Horror Games is what you´ll find with this one. Lots of new and refreshing content. Beautiful SCP Style stuff. The Combat is very solid. The basebuilding is addicting. The Ost and even the Story are Great. It has a darksouls- esque, Controlish way of telling the a story by the world itself. Items Level design everything fits. Somehow. Level Design is great and the interconnectedness in itself is a masterclass in Level Design. Only thing i dislike is that they changed the voice actor from the alpha Squad Jotun. The old one was really cool dont need another Gabriel Tosh

I bought this game on a whim during early access. Survival games are my bread and butter, and I was intrigued well enough. Played it for an hour or two, then put it down thinking I had scratched the surface. Then, recently, I picked it back up again thinking it would be a fun 15-20 hour experience. Now I'm sitting at around 80 hours on this save, and I am in awe. It is easily a contender for my favorite survival craft game. The setting is so unique and fun to explore. The story and world-building aren't in your face, yet they drip feed you just enough to keep you on the hook. The blending of different themes, like aliens, terrorists, zombies, witches, robots, demons, and whatever else I have yet to discover make for a gameplay loop and progression like I have never experienced. The early 2000s low-poly art style give the game so much character, and you can see the love the devs put into every model, animation, and texture. If you are even vaguely interested, I would highly recommend giving it a try. 10/10, I can't wait for more Dr. Derek Manse.

Some of the most fun I've ever had in a survival game, hands down. The only negative thing I can say about it is they need to fix the VOIP audio for prox chat
Best played with friends. Difficult settings like dropping your loot when you die and high food/water/rest demand makes the fun more fun when playing together. Set poop need to 500%! I have a high end laptop and it gets a bit stuttery with ultra settings but set to low the game doesn't look bad at all
