About
Grab. Aim. Fling.
A Ragdoll Rage Game is a brutally unforgiving physics-based climbing game that punishes you for every mistake you make. You control a floppy ragdoll by grabbing onto objects one limb at a time, aiming carefully, and flinging yourself upward.
Not knowing what the world has to offer, your goal is to explore and make your way to the top.
What begins as a simple climb quickly becomes a test of focus and patience as gravity and challenging obstacles stand in your way. The controls may look simple, but mastering them is another story. One wrong move can send you tumbling all the way back down... and you’ll have to decide if you’ve got the determination to climb back up.
The Level Editor lets you build insane climbs and share them with the world. Make a troll map designed to frustrate, a precision climb for speedrunners, or even a challenge where a ball must reach a goal. You are free to get creative and watch your friends struggle.
Global leaderboards track players’ fastest times, adding a competitive edge for anyone chasing mastery or bragging rights.
Your ragdoll deserves to look absolutely ridiculous while flinging through the air. Customize your character with a huge variety of cosmetics: hats, shirts, accessories, and more. You can even change the color of your clothes and skin, or upload an image of your face onto the ragdoll. Want to see your ragdoll wearing a maid outfit while spinning wildly? Go for it!
Not all climbs are straight up. Secret paths, shortcuts, and hidden areas are scattered throughout the levels. Discover these routes to unlock exclusive badges and cosmetics.

Reviews
Leaving an early positive review based on my prior experience with the demo, which essentially contained a smaller version of the same campaign. I'm excited to check out what novelties the full map has in store in the coming days, and will likely expand my review once I've seen the true ending. 'A Ragdoll Rage Game' presents a fairly unique combination of ideas within the foddian subgenre of precisions platformers. The movement mechanics feel limiting at first, but they absolutely fit the "easy to learn, hard to master" niche common to this style of games. You use the WASD keys to grab surfaces with your 4 ragdoll limbs, but can only hold on with one at a time; you don't control the movement of the limbs themselves, instead being able to launch yourself in any direction and let physics do the rest. As such, the difficulty is mainly derived from pressing the correct button at the right time while falling to successfully grab something with the best-positioned limb. My experience was largely an exercise in self-sabotage because I was frequently pressing the completely wrong button with full confidence, thus missing the grab opportunity entirely. Even after beginning to develop the proper muscle memory, the difficulty did not wane much, as the game introduces new types of hazards to further test your accuracy and timing, such as moving platforms falling rocks, slippery surfaces, etc. I never did reach the end of the demo, mostly because I wanted to save my effort for the full release, but it was clear that ARRG was appropriately named. Casual players can rejoice though at the inclusion of a generous checkpoint system if you don't want to risk starting from the beginning with one mistake. The art style is reminiscent of a low-budget CGI replication of a child's drawings, but in a good way, with exaggerated cartoony designs, bright coloration, and object placement that defies any sense of realism. The bug-eyed ragdoll character is always amusing to look at, which helps offset the pain slightly from missing your crucial grabs. The ragdoll is also highly customizable, even allowing you to upload your own image to put on its face, which I could see being very popular with streamers.
