A good, but not excellent, continuation of the first game. The locations have become even more beautiful, and the story still evokes emotions. In my opinion, the developers unnecessarily complicated the stealth: the game is still heavily story-driven, but it is no longer possible to move through a location at a fast pace while enjoying the scenery and the story on the first attempt. Don’t get me wrong, the stealth mechanics themselves are still primitive (which was more of a plus for me in the first game), but there are now many more enemies, so you simply have to sit in the bushes longer to adjust to their timings. There is also a certain feeling that some chapters drag on for too long: in my opinion, if the game had been shortened by a couple of hours, it would only have been better for it. Although the story is good overall and very rare in its own way, in some aspects the writers got a little too carried away and somewhat overdid it. In the end, I am still giving it a positive rating. If you are not familiar with the series, I recommend starting with the first game. If you like it, the second one will also leave a pleasant impression.
Overall - 8.5/10
A better game than the original in almost every way. If you played the first one this is a no brainer. Completed in around 15.9 hours.

This kid controlled armies of rats in the first game. Showed up in this one and forgot everything. Bro took a gap year and lost all his skills. And yet somehow watching a wave of rats the size of a small ocean chase you down is still the most intense thing in the game. Your legs will move before your brain does.

Visuals - 9/10
Stunning. One of the best looking games out there and it shows throughout the whole experience.
Story - 9/10
Sad, beautiful and hooks you immediately. Does not let go until the credits roll. The voice acting is great and the conversations between characters feel natural and genuine, which makes the whole journey hit even harder. Not going to say more than that.
Gameplay & Controls - 8/10
Feels great especially during the chase scenes. The maps are better designed and give you more creative freedom to reach your destination your way. Enemies are a lot smarter than the original too. There was a moment where I kept starting fires with a prism and after a while they were all on high alert actively searching for whoever was playing tricks on them. Small detail but it made the world feel alive.
Puzzles - 8/10
Great balance, not too hard and never feel out of place.
Combat - 7/10
More of the same from the original with some improvements. The big enemy introductions and high pressure moments are good but wish there was more variety in enemy types and something more with the rats specifically. More boss battles like the original had would have gone a long way.

One thing worth noting: More of a story driven experience than a combat heavy one, so go in with that expectation and you will not be disappointed.
The characters are all annoying and lecturing you all the time. "Don't kill this...", "Don't kill that...", yet the game offers constant upgrades to your weapons. I'll summarize the annoyance of the cast for you. -Hugo: This little ♥♥♥♥♥♥ is constantly complaining and I swear to God if I hear him say "Amicia, I'm scared !" once more I'm gonna throw him into a rat pit as I laugh in a loudly fashion. -Little Jimminy Cricket: This little nagging arsehole constantly berates and complains you not to kill people who are actively trying to harm you. I enjoyed luring him to the rats or fire to see him die. -Sophia: A walking advert for the studio's next game, which I wont be playing. tl:dr Throw the little nagging ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to the rats and THEN throw a fire urn into it to make sure.
O primeiro jogo mostrava duas crianças tentando sobreviver. Obrigado pro tudo Amicia, Hugo, Lucas, Sophia, Arnaud.. Minha nota como jogador História: 10/10 Personagens: 10/10 Trilha sonora: 10/10 Direção artística: 10/10 Gameplay: 9/10 Final: 10/10 Impacto emocional: 11/10
WHAT A GAMEEEEEE! Wow you really stepped up! The story was great, the gameplay was sooo smooth, and the GRAPHICS? EXQUISITE. 9/10, explaining rating below SPOILERS AHEAD: 1. Hugo's dreams: They do lead to the island, but they are nothing like what he envisioned. It gave us false hope. If this island would've had SOMETHING to help them, then it would've made a bit more sense. Why? Because they escaped the order just to get to it's HQ basically. This could've taken such a better turn, I don't understand what drove you to this choice... The more I searched the island the more desperate I felt, maybe this was the purpose but I don't think people play to feel desperation, at least not without a meaningful ending, which takes me to my next point. 2. Hugo's death: should've been avoidable. It was obvious he had something to do with the rats, and as soon as he controlled them we knew his death was a concrete possibility. Why did they go with the OBVIOUS thing they showed in the first game? I don't know either. 3. Why bring the mom back just to kill her? She could've stayed dead, maybe you could've prolonged the death of the dad (or vices versa), then kill him off too. My point is that the mom dies twice and Hugo died as well...and my heart hurts. Now what really bothers me is that if you'd ask me "Would you play this again?" I'd say yes. Congrats team you did a great job. Good luck on the next game!
Amazing game! It's better than the first entry in every way. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the 18 hour adventure. I kept telling myself every chapter is better than the last! I see some people complaining that parts of the game are slow but people need to understand that this is a narrative experience. I think the developers do an amazing job at selling the story of Amicia and Hugo as they travel europe in hopes to find a brighter tomorrow. The graphics are breathtaking and the music strongly enforces the tone the game tries to convey. the gameplay does take a new direction from where i thought they were going but i enjoyed the changes they made. I strongly recommend this game to anyone that played the first.
Simplesmente excelente.
