Even though I recommend this game, heres a few things I want to point out since it's been bothering me constantly during my playthrough.
Things I DO NOT like:
1. Beatrice, I hate this charecter, as for why, I could write an essay about it but just keeping it short, The motives of this charecter remain unclear: why didn't she tell Amicia what happened with Hugo, why she barely see Amicia (I thought the disease was contagious, turns out not), why she tried to concoct whatever witchery that was to suppress the power from progressing? We all thought it was a deadly disease connected to the rats, later in the game Beatrice said its actaully "a gift", and she been kept so busy to prevent it as much as she can't even see her daughter.
2. Hugo's duality, yall got some serious problem with the writing regarding Hugo, the first sign of this is the scene where he plays with that mallet or hammer thing, even throws a tantrum when told not to do so, this inconsistancy will reoccur through out the game, basically he acts like a brave and clever kid most of the time, but suddenly turns into an idiot for absolutely no reason.
3. the main plot of the game is so stupid and abrupt, first, why did Amicia lied to Hugo about the death of their mother, I do not buy into that "Ignorance is blessing" bullshyte, and Hugo, just turned himself in simply because he wants to see his mother, after witnessing all the horrible thing the Inquisition did.
4. the fact that Beatrice clearly does not care too much for Amicia compares to her affection for Hugo. There are so many examples, all she say is Hugo this Hugo that. She is not a good mother.
5. The death of Arthur and Rodric. The two best people in the whole game, and they have to die in a way that's utterly pointless and forced, I hate it. And basically Hugo killed these two just mind ya
6.The most important one, the dejection after realizing all the things you did as Amicia in the chapter 1-10 were kinda pointeless. So he got the power to control those rats but for whatever reason stupid Beatrice decided to hide it from her own daughter so she had to go through hell, and remember the reunion of Beatrice and Hugo, she did not even mention Amicia, I just feel disguested.
Now the things I like: graphic, gameplay, blah blah blah, oh yeah Arthur and Melie, Rodric.
