About
In June 2020, University College London reported that presbyopia(aged eyes) improved with a short training for 3 minutes a day.
UCL is a very good university that has produced 29 Nobel Prize winners at the time of that report.
This software was created to facilitate 3 minutes training based on the results of research by UCL.
According to the study, 20% improvement in visual function can be seen by continuing training for 3 minutes a day for 2 weeks.

3 min per day! Improve your aged eyes (Presbyopia) is an unusual presence on Steam because it occupies a space somewhere between an app, a wellness tool, and a minimalist interactive program rather than anything resembling a traditional game. Developed and published by Hellshake Yano, it positions itself as a daily eye-training routine inspired by research on visual exercise and age-related farsightedness. Instead of offering goals, levels, characters, or mechanics, it frames itself as a simple commitment: spend three minutes a day doing a series of guided visual tasks, and over time you may notice improvement in symptoms associated with presbyopia. Its presentation is straightforward and utilitarian, built around the idea that the user isn’t here to play, but to assess and perhaps improve their eyesight through tiny daily sessions. At its core, the software is structured around two components: a test module and a training module. The test portion lets you check your current visual clarity through a small set of controlled on-screen exercises, meant to approximate how well you perceive details at certain distances. The training portion is the centerpiece, guiding you through simple visual movements designed to stimulate eye muscles and focus shifts. These sequences are short and repetitive, emphasizing consistency rather than complexity. Visually, the app uses clean graphics and basic animations — enough to make the exercises functional without distracting from the intended purpose. Its minimalism is intentional, and the bare presentation emphasizes that the experience is meant to be part of a routine rather than an entertainment product. Because of this functional focus, the software’s limitations become apparent depending on the user’s expectations. Anyone approaching it as a game will quickly realize that it doesn’t operate like one at all. There is no progression system, no reward loop beyond personal curiosity, no escalating challenge, and no sense of accomplishment aside from completing your daily three minutes. It’s effectively a small wellness habit framed within a Steam app. Even players who are curious or open-minded may find the experience thin if they are used to systems-rich indie titles or apps that gamify self-improvement. Its design does not attempt to motivate with badges, achievements, or streaks; it simply asks you to return each day out of self-discipline alone. Another aspect that complicates the experience is the scientific claim that inspires it. The Steam page references research from University College London suggesting potential visual improvement from regular, short-duration eye training. While interesting, the game itself includes a clear disclaimer that results may vary and that no improvement is guaranteed. This creates a delicate balance between curiosity and skepticism. Eye health is complex, and presbyopia is a biological condition associated with aging; no digital tool can replicate medical treatment, and users should approach this software as a supplemental exercise at best, not a tested therapeutic solution. Still, the program may serve as a gentle reminder to think about eye strain and to incorporate small visual breaks — something beneficial for anyone who spends long hours in front of screens. Despite its limitations, the program does seem to resonate with a niche audience interested in wellness, eye-care routines, or unique experimental software. Many users treat it as a daily ritual or a curiosity — something brief and harmless that may provide subjective benefits even if the science behind it is not conclusive. Others appreciate the novelty of seeing a health-oriented tool delivered through a gaming platform. That said, its longevity is limited by its own simplicity; unless you are specifically looking to build a daily eye-exercise habit, the software does not offer enough variety or depth to keep most people engaged for long. Ultimately, 3 min per day! Improve your aged eyes (Presbyopia) is a niche, purpose-built utility wearing the shell of a Steam title. It succeeds in being easy to use, clearly structured, and fast enough to integrate into a daily routine. It fails if approached as a game, and offers minimal appeal to anyone seeking entertainment, challenge, or stimulation beyond a brief health exercise. For the right audience — those curious about eye training, those wanting a lightweight wellness tool, or those who simply enjoy trying unusual applications — it can be a small, interesting addition to a daily routine. For most players, however, it will feel more like a novelty than a meaningful or lasting experience. Rating: 7/10
