101 Cute Dogs: Find & Paint

XD[/h1] [i]101 Cute Dogs: Find & Paint[/i] is a cozy, cute hidden object game developed and published by Cozy Pixel. The objective is simple. You have to find 100 dogs hidden all over a park. You use the left mouse button to click on a dog and zoom in and out of the scene using the mouse wheel. Both timed and relaxed modes are available. Timed mode is simply for seeing how quickly it takes you to find all the cute dogs. You have the option of darkening a scene to make it more sight friendly. Also, there's the option to paint a scene with various colors and shades, which is a separate function from simply finding all the dogs. Lots of Steam achievements are present, but they won't count towards a user's global total until the game is out of "Steam is learning about this game". Having played a lot of these short HOGs, I found it to be a refreshing change of pace to play one that is dog-themed. (However, I do still enjoy the cat-themed ones and plan to play and review more in the future. ^^) With the gameplay, I found it to be pretty simple. I had no problems finding all of the cute puppies, and there's a tracker at the bottom of the screen to let you know how many are left to find. Also, if you have trouble finding one or two of those cutie dogs, you can use the hint function on the bottom right of the screen that's in the form of a question mark. I like how you can darken the background if the default white is blinding, and having basic functions, like zooming in and out, is almost required. However, I wish that there was the option to play the game either in full screen or windowed mode since I tend to prefer the latter. Still, all of the achievements are obtainable, and if you're pretty good at HOGs, you'll be able to complete the game quickly. Regarding the art, it has this cutesy, simple hand-drawn style that I like. There is only the one background present, but I like that it's outdoorsy and in a dog-themed park. With the music, it just has one track, but it gives off that fun, enjoyable vibe. The beat is slow, so you can relax to your heart's content as you're looking for all those cute dogs. Of course, you can adjust both the music and sound in the game's settings. Overall, would I recommend [i]101 Cute Dogs: Find & Paint[/i]? If you like short hidden object games, want to play one that is a departure from cats, and/or like getting all those Steam achievements, then this is worth taking a look. I liked the idea of having to find dogs as opposed to cats, since there are already so many games about cats (and already played them all with my 2yo daughter). I had this in wishlist and was eager to get as soon as it was released. Unfortunately, this game does not meet the expectations of game usability: [list] [*] I played 13 minutes and lost all my progress when I exited to the main menu. The game progress is not saved in any way. [*] I quit and relaunched the game and I lost my music settings, so the settings are also not kept. [*] There are steam achievements awarded for finding dogs, but instead of getting the achievements on real time I was spammed with 60+ achievements after I closed the game. [*] Even the desktop icon looks blurry due to low resolution below today's standards. [/list] Developers should take at least 13 minutes to work on quality assurance before releasing.

Ein wirklich tolles Hidden Spiel. Wir können hier 100 Hunde finden und sogar das ganze Bild ausmalen xD Meine Tochter, die das malen liebt, hatte hier echt viel Spaß. :'D Das Suchen der Hunde war sehr sehr einfach hier - man ist wirklich schnell durch.^^

[h1]実績ゲーとしては優秀[/h1] 探し物ゲーとしては落第レベル。 イラストは落書きに近いもので「どう見ても人にしか見えないもの」が犬扱いなのは何かの暗喩だろうか。 ヒント機能はあるとはいえ、画面右下のヒントアイコン並びに実績獲得表示に隠れて1匹いるのは物理的に見つからず、不条理さしか覚えなかった。 一画面ですべて完結するのでシンプルな潔さは良かったが、安いにしても質がひどすぎである。

44p for 60 seconds of fun is alright, right?? Jokes aside, this was incredibly easy and I didn't even need to zoom it at all. The colouring part does seem really cool though, I like that it doesn't allow you to colour outside the lines & you can pick any colour from the colour picker. I would definitely wait until this is on 90% off sale.

I really want to like this game, and for it's price, I guess it is worth it...BUT the controls are pretty horrible, you can't exit out of the Options screen, so have to force-close the game, there's no counter so you have no idea how many dogs you have left to find..it just feels so slapped together. But hey, it cost like $1.50, so you can't expect too much.

All achievements are easily obtainable, and if you're experienced with HOGs, you'll likely finish this one pretty quickly. Overall, it's a fun and relaxing game for any fan of the genre!

This is a nice break from all the hidden CAT games saturating the market. The painting portion of the game is optional as none of the painting contributes to achievements. The dog-finding portion of the game is incredibly easy... so find some dogs, paint (if you'd like), sit back and enjoy an easy 100%.
