100 Sea Cats

[H1]The only thing deep here is the ocean, because the gameplay sure isn’t.[/H1] 100 Sea Cats is the unfortunate poster child of mass-produced hidden cat games. It looks cute at first glance, but behind the purr-fect promise lies a rushed and hollow experience. I finished both levels in just [b]six minutes[/b] (without hints, no rushing) and immediately asked for a refund. That should tell you everything with my usual track record. To be fair, there are a couple of positives: the zoom is excellent, the art is pleasant enough, and the hints recharge quickly (though they’re unnecessary given how easy everything is). Unfortunately, the cons outweigh them by far. Music loops endlessly, both levels are spoiled by their preview images and multiple cats require 4–6 clicks to register as “found” (I doubt it is, but it feels like an artificial playtime padding bug). The pictures are overly simple, color mode adds nothing difficulty wise, and even the linework disappears when clicking cats, leaving the whole thing looking unpolished. Overall? A shallow, short, and sloppy entry in the 100 Cats formula. This might amuse very young children who don’t mind low quality, but for anyone else, even hidden object casuals, this one sinks fast. Skip it. [i]As at the time of writing this[/i], I've already 100% completed and reviewed two of the other “[b]100 [i](thing)[/i] Cats[/b]” games; and [b]bottom line[/b], they're EXACTLY as advertised and are the same thing every time. With all that said, I downloaded another one of them today! Now [i]why did I go and buy another cat game if I've already exhausted the whole [b]“find the cats!”[/b] concept?[/i] well, [b]this one is OCEAN THEMED[/b], and that is [i]pretty neat![/i] One problem; I might have legit trouble writing a full page review without repeating what I've said previously on the other games. [i]Why write a review at all?[/i] [spoiler]....cuz I like writing reviews![/spoiler] Not only is the gameplay [i]exactly the same[/i], but [b]now, they're telling you what it is [i]right there in the title![/i] [/b] [b]There are 100 cats. When you [i]s e a[/i] the cats, you click on them!.....[i]see?[/i] [/b] I changed the word [i]see[/i] and replaced it with [i]sea[/i] because that's the name of the game [i]it takes place in the sea and the sea is where the cats are and you have to see the cats before you can click on them but I changed the word see into sea and [b]why aren't you complimenting my super genius wordplay yet???[/b] [/i] [b]hmph.[/b] So because of the ocean theme, you've got cats going around; scuba diving, swimming with schools of fish, or just hiding out in a coral reef. Out of the three cat games I've played, I'd probably say that this was the hardest one to complete; as not only are a lot of the cats really [i]really [b]small[/b] [/i] [spoiler](thank goodness for the zoom feature!)[/spoiler] but [i]it feels like a lot of them[/i] -[b]this game in particular[/b]- are just showing [i]an ear[/i], or like [b]a tail[/b]. There are your fair share of obvious cats, though [spoiler](gotta love the cat fish!)[/spoiler] so it all more or less evens out. Admittedly, all this talk about how “[i]this is the hardest cat game yet![/i]” doesn't really matter; as even though [b]100 Sea Cats[/b] comes with [b]two[/b] levels [spoiler](meaning it really should've been called 200 Sea Cats)[/spoiler], I beat the whole thing in about 20 minutes. [b]12 minutes on level 1; 7 minutes on level 2.[/b] [i]sea? [b]good fun![/b] [/i] Let's talk about the production values of this one dollar I-Spy game where you click on a bunch of cats hiding in the ocean. [b]You got that?[/b] Unlike the other cat games I've played ([b]Alien Cats[/b] and [b]Romantic Cats[/b]), THIS game is [b]in color![/b] And it looks really [i]quite nice![/i] The drawings are cute and cartoony, with some nice warm colors. There are dozens of different sea creatures hanging out, like crabs, turtles, and octopuses [spoiler](...octopi? Google wasn't exactly clear)[/spoiler]; along with things like sunken pirate ships, a bunch of treasure, and [b]an entire SpongeBob-[i]esque[/i] miniature city.[/b] y'know, [b]Swimsuit Booty[/b] or something. That's not the only pop culture reference around here, as [b]100 Sea Cats[/b] probably has [i]dozens[/i] of little nods to famous [i]ocean-related[/i] media; like how a number of the cats are named after Disney and Pixar characters [spoiler](omg did you just find Nemo??)[/spoiler], and how in Level 2 [i]there's this submarine in this lovely bright shade of yellow.[/i] This [b]-of course-[/b] is a reference to [i]the very popular SNES game [b]EarthBound[/b], specifically the submarine you find in Mr. BrickRoad's museum inside the Dungeon Man, the very same sub you borrow to get to the swamplands of Deep Darkness.[/i] It's kind of an obscure thing to mention, but hey, [b]props to them for such a deep cut.[/b] The music -[i]while only a 30 second loop[/i]- is pleasant, and I always appreciate the little dopamine rush that is [b]the Steam achievement noise played 100 times in a row.[/b] Overall, I thought it was really well done! It's like going to your favorite aquarium, sitting down at the restaurant inside, and looking at the kids' menu. [b]odd compliment[/b], but it [i]perfectly[/i] captures the vibe. [b]200 Sea Cats[/b] is just as good as [i]all the other [b]“find the cats!”[/b] games I've played.[/i] The gameplay is simple and relaxing, the art is really cute, and it's [b]super cheap.[/b] [i]not free[/i], like the other 100 Cat games, but still [b]super cheap[/b]. I totally understand if this isn't your thing, and that you think these games are too shallow, [i]repetitive[/i], or [b]frequent[/b] [spoiler](all of which are very valid arguments)[/spoiler]; but [i]at the same time[/i], how [b]could you [i]not[/i] love the mer-cats??[/b] If you like all the meows, or [i]if you like where all the meows are hiding[/i], or [b]if you're a big fan of both[/b], then this is another [b]10+ minutes of kitty bliss[/b]. Não consigo descrever o quanto gosto desse estilo de jogos, é tudo tão fofo, eu sempre fico ansiosamente esperando um lançamento de meses pra zerar em menos de 10 minutos, enfim é satisfatório e fico feliz por esse joguinho existir

Search game where you need to find all the cats to complete all the achievements. There are 2 areas to complete. Takes about 5 minutes to complete both areas.

Good hidden object game, but some of the cats was way to small to see good. I couldn't even finish the second map. 8/10.

Хороший способ за копейки ненадолго занять ребёнка чем-нибудь интересным и небесполезным для развития внимательности. Приятная мультяшная картинка, радует возможность переключаться между цветным и чб режимом, ибо в цвете некоторых котиков высмотреть существенно сложнее. Дочь довольна, следовательно я тоже)

[h3] [b] 100 SEA CATS [/b] [/h3] Relaxing and funny game where you just need to find 100 hidden cats. Once you find them all, you just completed the whole game. Sounds easy right? Some cats are really tough to find but you will figure it out. If you can´t find some of them there is hint system that will help you. Art and music fits together nicely. In case you are still missing some cats, just take a look at my guide. :) Overall it is a good game to decompress. If you have good eyes for seeking it will take you about 15 minutes to 30 minutes at maximum. Also you will get easily those achievements. GL & HF.
