Help Homer to write The Odyssey! Collect customizable cards and assemble them into your own unique story. Every playthrough produces a different epic poem. What will your odyssey look like?
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.
About

This game takes about 30 minutes to finish, has no sound, and is meant to be played in one sitting (meaning, there’s no save function!)
Customizable Cards - Build a deck of ‘story cards,’ upgrade them to create new drafts of your poem, and perform the whole thing in front of a crowd. Each decision you make changes the story Homer tells.
Historically-Informed Artwork - I originally made this game for a 10-day game jam in 2023 using pre-made art, but remastered it in 2026 with entirely new artwork that I drew myself! Each image is based on real Greek pottery.
Maybe You’ll Learn Something - Learning? Gross! The game is meant to be enjoyed first and foremost, but I did include historically-informed nuggets for anyone interested in the subject. The Odyssey is one of my favorite stories, and I hope this helps make it more accessible to those who have struggled with reading it in the past!
Developed Live on Stream - I created this game partly to teach myself GameMaker, and fumbled my way through developing it (as well as drawing all the new artwork) on livestreams and videos. More than 90% of the development process is available to watch on my YouTube channel!
NOTE: This game includes spoilers for The Odyssey. (Though you did have 2,500 years to read it!)

such a unique experience, i really like it. wish it was longer though.
this game reminds me of the old arcade style games of the 80's it isn't a bad game but it is a very short game and can get quite repetitive
A bit repetitive (reading 14 times the same material gets boring after a while, especially since unless I'm wrong, you have to give each card enough time on the screen) but fun! The writing is like the art, minimalistic but efficient, I liked it. (I wonder if I somehow failed the easiest stat-based VN or if there really is no good ending)

The bones of this game are simple, but what makes it worth trying is the style. It has the look and feel of an early arcade game. The artwork is black and white pixel art that recreates real images from some famous Ancient Greek vases. The writing is the best part of all, clever and funny! It's incredibly impressive to me that this was all done by one very talented person. It's an amazing project and I think the creator should be very proud. I would recommend this game to anyone who has 30-40 minutes to kill, loves Greek mythology (the Odyssey in particular), and has a good sense of humor. Give it a try!
An ode to high-school Latin class. Worth the time to play for sure. Winning was possible for me after some attempts
