If you are playing with a premium subscription than yes, if you are just playing for fun and free do not expect much, the game does seem to give you a negative handicap when playing free eg. Bad RNG, most shots will damage you and speed and response of your tank seems to be a bit more sluggish. On the plus side it does give you free premium time to sink the hooks in. all and all understandable they do need and want to make money to keep the game and servers and company running.
