World of Tanks is a tactical action game with very different gameplay depending on the vehicle type and role. Aside from regular PvP, there are competitive and clan-based modes, special PvE and PvPvE events, and much more. Whether you play to dominate or just enjoy the ride, you'll fit right in.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.

I like it so much that I literally wanna play all day
World of Tanks has been around for 16 years, so I genuinely do not understand why there is still no proper single-player training room where new players can freely explore maps. Map knowledge is extremely important in WoT, and the learning curve is enormous. An experienced player once told me that it probably takes around 6,000 actual battles to become reasonably familiar with all the maps. Whether that number is exact or not, there are simply too many maps, positions, firing lines, bushes, ridgelines, and routes for a new player to learn efficiently through random battles alone. The current Team Training mode is far too limited for this purpose. You cannot even start a training battle alone; you need other players just to launch the room. If I want to spend an hour late at night driving around different maps, testing positions, checking gun depression, learning escape routes, or simply understanding the terrain, I should not need to find another person willing to sit in a training room with me. What makes this even more ridiculous is that Wargaming already created Topography, which seems to acknowledge that players need a way to learn maps. Yet Topography only supports a small subset of the game's maps — many maps are not available in the mode at all — and it still does not allow players to freely explore the available maps with whatever vehicle they want. I also dislike the credit economy, although I can at least understand why it exists. The lack of a proper single-player training room is much harder to justify. Players have been asking for this kind of feature for years. After 16 years, has Wargaming ever seriously addressed this problem?

Despite the number of hours Steam displays, I started playing World of Tanks in 2012, long before the game was available on Steam. I estimate I have around 4750 hours in it besides the ones registered in Steam. This is a game that I enjoy because it has a lot of content that (for me) takes a long time to unlock. That gives me a feeling of always progressing. Also, when I started playing it was a relatively simple game that allowed me to learn the mechanics slowly over time as they were introduced. I don't play everyday and I don't use a premium account unless I can get it for free during a special event. Therefore, I play mostly for free but I have bought some premium tanks/premium account on past occasions. I have accumulated enough equipment, boosters and consumables over the years to allow me to do that. I also take advantage of special events that provide discounts or a few premium account days. As much as possible, I avoid firing the so called "premium ammo" to save credits even though that puts me at a disadvantage sometimes. But don't get me wrong, if the situation calls for it, I will fire whatever ammo I need (expensive or not) to destroy the enemy tank. I recommend that you try this game if you like tanks and want to play a combat/shooter game that is not as fast paced as CoD or Battlefield. I personally started playing because of the WW2 tanks that were available (and still are) in the game but historical accuracy has long left the building. In this game, you don't need lightning fast reflexes and, depending on the tank you choose, you can block some hits with your armour or spot tanks for your teammates to shoot. You have hundreds of tanks to choose from, with different roles and capabilities. There is an "elephant in the room" that I must address: Lately, Wargaming's way of monetizing this game is to constantly introduce new premium/reward tanks that are only available in [strike]loot[/strike] boxes. That is basically gambling and forces you to but way too many boxes (especially with tiered ones) if you're looking for a specific tank. I refuse to fall for that FOMO, so I just accept the fact that I will never have the latest and greatest tanks. Even if they release an OP tank, when the next wave of tanks appears, the old one is "forgotten" and slowly disappears from the battles. They have also ignored player feedback on many occasions. All things considered and dispite Wargaming's attempts to damage it, I still find enjoyment in World of Tanks mainly because it is a slower-paced game compared to other popular titles.
World of Tanks is one of those games that's incredibly easy to get hooked on. The tank variety is great, the battles can be intense, and there’s a satisfying feeling that comes from learning the strengths and weaknesses of different vehicles. The progression system gives you plenty to work toward, and when a match comes together with good teamwork, the game is genuinely a blast. That said, it definitely has its frustrations. Matchmaking can be rough, the grind can feel excessive at times, and the free-to-play mechanics can sometimes make progression feel slower than it should. Some battles are incredibly competitive while others can feel completely one-sided. Despite those issues, I keep coming back to it. If you enjoy tanks, strategy, positioning, and multiplayer combat, World of Tanks is worth trying. Just be prepared to occasionally yell at your monitor when your entire team collapses five minutes into the match. Overall: A fun and addictive tank game with some frustrating free-to-play and matchmaking mechanics.

In the beginning i thought mmmhm, i play this because my friend plays it. Then i started to play it because i liked the game, i started watching tips and tricks etc. And now i like this game. The most usefull thing i learned is that when you activate some stuff in your personal reserves, the next hour you will lose every battle!
