i really needed to take a sh*t when i first launched this game but i turned to what i really needed at that moment so i sat on my chair w my dirty ahh, booted up the game, finished it, cried, got a job, recreated this whole scenario(while having my ahh shatted). 9/10 the bow is pretty slow for a fastpaced shooter but is 1shot so i guess ill give it a 10/10 amazing

Really fun, addicting fast paced fps with some bugs but since its free its a 100% recommendation.
workaholic is clearly drawing a lot of inspiration from the recent wave of 'punk' and 'ugly' games but doesn't really get there in any way. The artstyle is painfully generic. Every model just looks straight out of the unity marketplace, which definitely works in the game's detriment, since its aim seems to be to create this so-called 'ugly' aesthetic. It sure is ugly, but not in the way Cruelty Squad might be. That game is ugly as ♥♥♥♥, but it is that way with a purpose, while workaholic only wants to be seated at the adults table. The main source of inspiration for this game is post void. I haven't watched an interview or read a statement from the creator of workaholic, but it is just too obvious in a lot of aspects. For instance, both games take place in an office complex, but while post void distorts and degenerates space and its inhabitants to their basic features, workaholic just takes place in a normal office, with normal people working on it, which, as I said, really brings down the maximum potential ugliness by a lot. Neither game features a lot of variety when it comes to floor layouts or enemies, but post void's supersonic pacing doesn't let you notice, while workaholic, having a playstyle more reminiscent of doom clones, becomes very repetitive very quickly. The first thing you'll notice when coursing through your first playthrough is that the starting gun (your hand making the shape of a gun, that is), feels loose and unresponsive. Most enemies don't react to getting shot at all. Thing is, it would be kind of understandable if it only happened with the starting pistol, but picking up the shotgun (a toaster) has the same effect, although made more obvious by the fact that it shoots physical pellets (toast), which most of the time, don't even one-shot enemies at point-blank range because of its awful spread, so why would I even use the shotgun? None of the weapons have any punch to them, and indifferent enemies only work to worsen this feeling. The weapons themselves are also really weird. On one hand, you have a roaster of office-themed weapons: the shotgun toaster, the nailgun and the handgun, but on the other, you have a usual, run of the mill bow and arrow, and a key that shoots doors at close range, which represent a weird clash of styles. Throughout the game, there are powerups, such as the dual wield and the infinite ammo, which will give you a barely noticeable, temporal enhancement, and also the worst filter imaginable to your view, which will make your screen esentially monochromatic, blend all silhouettes together and make it impossible to see more than five feet in front of you. I don't understand the decision to make a powerup actively harmful, but that's that. I have now rambled about this free game more than I have been actually playing the game. Didn't even finish a round. My head hurts a lot after playing for less than 20 minutes. I need a break.
Exactly as it looks, and pretty engaging. Recommended.
Very fun, hard to believe it's free
