Wheelborn is a fun, bite-sized open world game that lets you choose your playstyle - when you first start, you get to pick your class, which alters both your appearance and stats, and customize your character's colors. Once in the game you can easily avoid combat for the most part and go for a full explorer/gatherer style (like I did with my first playthru) OR go for the power route and take down all your enemies (with upgrades). There are also multiple endings, so there's a decent incentive to mess around with the classes and play it twice. The "small" world actually feels very expansive and the developer has tucked away a lot of little secrets to find. Everything seems to have been made with a lot of love and I enjoyed roaming around this world! My only gripe is that I wish upgrading the town gave some kind of tangible rewards or at least let you talk to the villagers. I can't really complain all that much, though, as this is a rather polished *FREE* experience. The (solo?) dev did a great job with it! This is a good choice if you're looking to spend a couple hours in a charmingly crafted world. One last spoilery thought:
The twist of "finding the real world" was pretty cute and unique, but it kinda put a damper on my immersion, so not sure how I feel about it overall, lol. I personally would have preferred it wasn't included, but I wonder if maybe this was a callback to the dev's childhood?
This game is a lot of fun! Slick visuals, satisfying movement, and some neat twists!
This game if it takes another direction I see it becoming some thing big in the future the dev is so talented but clearly lack experienced
Adorable game but lacks a lot of polish
Cute little game, was inspired to play it after I randomly stumbled upon Alex Klexber's video discussing what he learned from it. The whole game is essentially just a short fetch quest. Concept of playing as a car is cool. I do wish it had a map and a little bit more polish, but the game is what it is and I can't complain since it's free and functional.
I still don't know what wheels are.
This is literally dark souls but your a car lmao amazing game
A great indie gem, the platforming feels fantastically fluid and the story is really nice, I strongly reccomend it to anyone who has an hour or two of free time, you won't regret it!
What a wonderful experience.
i really liked the game, loads of personal touches. especially the real world area that's my favorite part of the game. i would have gladly payed 5 euros for the experience.
