Welcome to WHAT THE PAK?!
Many mini-games are at your disposal, my lord… lady… captain?
If you’re looking for a 3D party game with fast-paced gameplay, your search ends here. WHAT THE PAK?! is a minigame-rush party game that rewards fast play and parkour skills.
Our little wannabe monsters don’t know the word “logic.” When they see a cliff, they jump. When they see a crown, they steal it. When they see a bomb, they explode. If you want a carefree gaming experience like our little PAKs, join our ranks.
P.S.: Bombs are highly dangerous, explosive devices. DO NOT LET THEM EXPLODE IN YOUR HANDS!
We have plenty of mini-games to enjoy while you annoy your lifelong friends or a few strangers who might become lifelong friends.
Before declaring your kingdom upon the Ancient Ruins, make sure you explode your rivals in the beautiful sunset of the Japanese Forest. Or maybe you prefer something chillier. How about an epic battle on the icy ground of the Arctic? It’s your call!
All the best memories are made with lifelong friends or potential lifelong friends. Gather your mates and get ready to test the limits of your friendship… What were you expecting? It’s a party game.
Express your PAK's personality with our freshly made costumes. Are you an artist, a rebel, or a gentleman? Maybe you're here to hit the dance floor. We don't know, but we do care. You can choose anything from our distinctly organized wardrobe.
HEED THE CALL! CHAOS IS CALLING FOR YOU! IT ORDERED PEPPERONI PIZZA FOR THE PARTY!

At first, I thought this was a cheap Fall Guys knockoff that would only be enjoyable for minimal time. However, upon playing, I soon found out this was not the case and got addicted quickly. Read on to find why this is the case: Pros: ✔ Controls on Keyboard work flawlessly and are easily remapped in settings to any button you desire ✔ Mechanics such as licking, jumping and screeching work flawlessly ✔ Graphics and Audio are fitting to the style of the game ✔ Has lots of achievements which are obtainable by just playing ✔ Ping is based on who hosts it, therefore if you host and wait for people to join you then you'll have optimised ping. ✔ Can host a game and let either randoms join by quickplay or make it friends only by turning off quickplay. ✔ Nice number of maps/modes to play – Could be updated to add new modes every so often to keep the game fresher than fresh, which would be a nice addition ✔ Customisation of number of rounds, which maps/modes and being able to invite/kick players is decent ✔ In game lobby chat just works and is very nifty ✔ Ready Up Lobby is nice, massive and allows you to have lots of fun whilst you wait for players or friends to join and ready up ✔ Has a Streamer Mode - for all the Streamers in the world ✔ Decent number of Languages you can set the game to – For those non-English speakers ✔ Skins, Emotes, Banners, Profile Pics etc are a great addition - However making these extremely hard to get without paying is a downfall (Refer to my Con point below). ✔ Has a Battle Pass like system except unlocking XP is limited to 3 Weekly and 3 Daily Challenges which makes completing and leveling up slow. Should be XP for playing (Refer to my Con point below). ✔ Load times in between rounds, into the Lobby and into the game are very quick ✔ Character looks like Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc – Very cool addition ✔ Let’s all players vote on three game modes each round. This is nice as it let’s you have a say in what you want to play each round. ✔ Really easy way to enjoy a quick game or two with friends or a random. Also good way to settle arguments between friends – invite them, fight it out and the winner wins the argument! Cons: ✘ Voting on the three game modes doesn't choose the one with most votes. If say one has 34% of the votes and one has 66% of votes, it will do roll between the two and randomly pick one. In my opinion the highest voted game mode should be chosen every time, except in a draw. ✘ If you host and ready up you can play by yourself. As the game is a verse game, where you verse other players being able to play by yourself defeats the purpose of the game. However, doing so allows you to unlock achievements that don’t require other players. This should not be the case. Likewise, if you play by yourself you should not be able to complete daily/weekly changes or get XP. Whilst this doesn’t ruin the game for others, it defeats the purpose of skilfully unlocking battlepass, levels/xp and achievements. ✘ Team game modes do not auto-disable if not turned off by host if there are odd players. If there are odd players, team game modes should not be in the selection to play as it ruins it for the team with the odd number of players. ✘ Players who leave halfway through are still counted on the final leaderboard. If they leave there score should be wiped from that game and the players left should be allotted to 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc ✘ Statistics aren't a true representation of skill level as you can play by yourself and make manipulate them to look as good as you want. This would be a decent feature if it only worked if you had 2+ players. This is a minor issue and as the statistics are private, they are only good for bragging rights if you share a screenshot etc. ✘ Clicking the back button on profile doesn't work when selecting banner/icon/badges. You manually have to hit escape. ✘ Clicking the back button from Video in settings doesn't work. You manually have to hit escape. ✘ XP seems to only be gotten from doing daily/weekly challenges and once done you have to wait for them to refresh. Can’t get XP for winning or placing in top 3. It would be a lot better if you also get XP which scales based on what position you end up on the leaderboard from playing and placing 3rd, 2nd or 1st. ✘ Can't buy anything from the shop without purchasing coins. This renders carrots (Free currency) useless if you are not wanting to buy coins (Premium currency). There should be a carrot only shop and a carrot/coin shop. That way players can use carrots to unlock something. ✘ When hosting a game you have the option to change the game mode from classic. However, it has arrows to select other game modes that do not exist. Would be good if in the future there were more modes that added more twists to the standard game. ✘ Relies on Wendigo Services to be operational to even launch the game. If anything was to happen to the servers this game would not launch. This would be the case for a lot of small indie games, but a random Service/Server being required to play this makes me wonder how long the upkeep will last. All in all, despite getting the game for free and noticing several drawbacks, the pros still outweigh the cons. If I had paid for it, I'd definitely want to keep coming back and get my monies worth. I thus, do highly recommend giving it a try and with a few small improvements, this game could really be the next big thing provided the servers stay online. PS: If you haven’t screamed What the Pak!? At least 50 times by the time you stop playing the game, then the game is not for you.

Fall Guys

When I first laid my eyes on WHAT THE PAK, nothing seemed too out of the ordinary. “Yeah, it’s just a stupid Fall Guys clone, big deal,” and I almost scrolled past it when... I suddenly got this aching, dreadful feeling in my soul. I HAD to play it. Not wanted to. HAD to, or I would have felt... guilt? I don’t know how to explain the feeling, but anyways, I booted up the game and I could tell that my life had changed forever. Let’s start with the obvious fact. This game has beautiful and magnificent graphics that no AAA game could even dream of making. The artwork and attention to detail on everything, including the “pak creatures,” is simply astounding. I didn’t even know it was possible to make something so... beautiful. I left my girlfriend because compared to this, she doesn’t even come close. This game is visually lustful to me. It calls for my name the same way a breeze in the wind calls the birds in the moonlit sky. This game calls me like a tide calls back the ocean, returning from the shore. This game haunts me like a ghost haunts their previous lover, making sure they are safe and loved even if they aren’t there with them. And then there’s the soundtrack. God. The soundtrack. Every sound in this game feels handcrafted by beings beyond human comprehension. The menu music alone made me sit motionless in my chair for 3 hours straight, staring blankly at the screen while tears rolled down my face. My family kept knocking on my door asking if I was okay, but how could I explain this feeling to them? How could I explain perfection? The sound effects of the pak creatures squealing and tumbling around echo inside my head even when the game is closed. Sometimes I wake up at 3 AM hearing distant pak noises in my hallway. I checked multiple times and found nothing, yet somehow I feel comforted by it. Like the game is watching over me. Protecting me. Waiting for me to return. Overall, WHAT THE PAK is not just a game. It is a spiritual awakening disguised as interactive media. Since playing it, food no longer tastes the same. Colors seem duller in the real world. Human conversation feels meaningless compared to the divine dialogue between pak creatures. My doctor says I’m “showing signs of severe sleep deprivation and obsessive behavior,” but I think he’s just jealous he’ll never understand true art. If this game has one million fans, I am one of them. If this game has one fan, it is me. If this game has no fans, then I have ascended beyond this mortal plane and become one with the pak. Thank you for listening to my take on this piece of internet art. Even calling it art seems like an understatement to it's true beauty.
