WTC 1/Redux is the origin story of how the protagonist (that is, you !) unknowningly ends up in England. When a long forgotten mission resurfaces, your nemesis takes drastic measures to deal with it - including taking you along with her.

This one is quite comical and had a few fun laughs with an aeroplane event where I'm surprised most passengers didn't grab parachutes and bail.
Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this game from the developer for my curator, Games for Hopeless Romantics. Welcome to... Chichester: The Spy of America and the Long Vacation is supposedly a comedy visual novel which parodies spy media. I say "supposedly" because it's not even remotely funny at any point. In fact, it's almost impressive how unfunny it is. I don't like ripping into things like this, but there really are almost no redeeming qualities to this game. The sprites are alright, I guess, but nothing special. That is legitimately the best praise I can give this game: "the sprites are alright, I guess." Meanwhile, the GUI is default Ren'Py (right down to not even putting the effort to delete the single line that shows the voice volume slider in a game which has no voice acting), the music is stock, both the character art and the backgrounds are from Fiverr (meaning the artists were paid below minimum wage for their work), there are no CGs... The writing is, frankly, awful. It seems that neither the writer nor any of the testers know how English punctuation works, as is obvious just from the title: there's no need to put a space in front of a colon (or question marks, or exclamation points)--I'd wonder if it was translated from French, which does use extra spaces around punctuation, if it weren't for the fact that there's no French language option. Not only that, but sentences often lack any ending punctuation at all. The story tries to go for a slapstick atmosphere, but this is hindered by two factors: first of all, the limited visual assets mean that the game has to rely solely on its writing to convey gags, and making slapstick without visuals is extremely difficult; second, there's just no sense of comedic timing. (Nothing dooms a comedy to flatness more quickly than poor timing.) The whole thing reads as though the writer simply wrote down the first things that came to mind, stuck it in Ren'Py, and sold it. There's no sense of intentionality, no indication that the author put any actual effort into their craft. Speaking of effort: The game lets you play as either a male or a female character. There are some minor changes to the dialogue depending on which you choose. (If you pick male, other characters make fun of the protagonist for allegedly wearing a toupee; if you pick female, characters make fun of her for supposedly having large breasts, and her boss tries to sexually harass her--classy! I'm definitely not sick of developers "differentiating" their male and female PCs by making the female PC experience random sexism! /s) The female protagonist option is clearly an afterthought; the PC is referred to many times as "he" or "him" regardless. I'd rather have no gender choice option whatsoever than one executed so haphazardly. And, after all of that, there isn't even any romance. This isn't something I'd normally complain about--yeah, I like romance, I wouldn't run a romance game curator if I didn't, but it's not the be-all-end-all of a story, and there are plenty of stories out there that work perfectly fine without romance at all. But if you're going to send a game to the curator of "Games for Hopeless Romantics," maybe you should make sure the game actually has romance in it? So you don't waste the curator's time, yeah? There's almost kind of an implication that Grendel Jinx has a crush on the protagonist, but it's so poorly executed that it's hard to tell. It hardly counts as a romantic sub-plot, at any rate. You want good slapstick writing? Try Animalia by Ian Michael Waddell or Tally Ho by Kreg Segall. The first one is even free. You want a spy game? Secret Agent Cinder by Emily Ryan (also free). You want a romantic comedy visual novel? Brianna Lei's Butterfly Soup (free), Hato-King's Hatoful Boyfriend, ebi-hime's Strawberry Vinegar. Just...don't bother with this. It was a waste of my time. This shouldn't be sold for money. This is something you make when you're just starting out and learning how to do stuff, and then you store it on a USB drive or something so that years later you can show it to people and say "Look how much I've improved since then!" There's no shame in making bad games, but just because you make a game doesn't mean you need to sell it. This isn't worth full price, it's not worth the sale price, and it's not even worth playing if you get it for free.

This has the Imperial seal of approval.
A confusing and overall poorly made visual novel. The story is kinda bad, the characters are ok-ish and the music feels like it was stolen from some teenager garage band, apart from the royalty free music which is the only thing that sounds good enough. It feels like this whole thing was glued together with scotch tape. I'm trying really hard to try and figure out something good from this trainwreck of a game, but there's really nothing remarkable besides being a huge waste of time. 1/10 would not get hit by a frying pan wielding loli again
I sat and read through this book in 3 hours. I just couldnt stop reading it was funny, had good character development, and bad puns. Ms. Jinx is just a little brat.
Its the first of a trilogy of fun indie visuals novels full of humor and funny moments. You will have a good time with the adventures of Grendel and the protagonist.
