Amazing game i think they used RPG maker for the engine but i don't know, if you want an amazing RPG play this game, i have not beaten it not by a long shot, but i can say that it is jampacked with story and good encounter based fights, lots of secrets they even have hidden code pieces so you ctart decrypting the random npcs speech
No sé inglés pero si estuvo bueno el juego espero que en el futuro se pueda traducir este juego por qué enserio fue bastante entretenido y primer rpg que jugue
RPG Maker strikes again! "Weird and Unfortunate Things Are Happening" is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction. This RPG Maker asset features a few bespoke (badly made) assets as well as flipped tilesets, and eschews the normal high school anime club dropout fan-fiction about the developers imaginary anime girlfriend for a more contemporary fan-fiction about the developers imaginary girlfriend as she protects her niece or something... the writing, as always, is pure cringe, and the quality of this as a game is nil. As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of RPG Maker is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development. Like most RPG Maker shovelware and asset flips, the game features extremely low quality copy + pasted 2D retro pixel art, looks awful, and has even worse gameplay. RPG Maker is an absolutely terrible construction kit, and never results in games of any reasonable quality or value to gamers. So, it's hard to describe this as a game, the focus of the product is more like that of an e-book/visual novel, there's only minor, shallow and uninteresting gameplay elements. The crux of this is to push some very low quality, badly done fan-fiction tier writing, where we see once more a developer fail to understand the importance of "Show, don't tell", and for whatever reason, weren't able to convey their narrative through gameplay, giving us endless lines of badly written e-book text instead. My gaming rig is not a kindle. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. In terms of public reception, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Given that this free title won't increase your game collector count, is it worth your time to add it to your library? This is a "nope". While it won't necessarily cost you money, the time and hard drive space it requires could be better invested in one of the many higher-quality alternatives on Steam.

Just like the good old days of rpg games :)
I really enjoyed the game
This game is one i cannot stop talking to my friends about. It's beautifully made, the attention to detail is on point, i felt truly connected to the characters and the story itself. The sound track is to die for there wasnt a moment where i wished i could be listening to something else, and i often just sat listening to the music instead of countuing the story because it was so good. I havent gotten a perfect run with all the achivements so im going to do that. My fav character has to be Elothu, i find their dsign so cool!! people need to play this game istg its amazing
