"Warren The Warlock" is a pointless Unity asset flip, the developer ripped off a bunch of Unity sprites and tilesets and slapped them on a basic Unity platformer blueprint so he could tell his imaginary girlfriend he's a game developer or something. What do you do in the game? As with all asset flips this looks almost reasonable but isn't backed up by any kind of gameplay quality... it's just a shallow attempt at making a game, but at least the developer didn't have the usual audacity of trying to charge money for someone else's Unity assets. And of course I don't apply the "asset flip" label lightly, an example of the stolen assets used here is the Ogre asset created by Toke Game Art... yeah, they thought we wouldn't notice. Gamers can smell asset flips a mile away. So, on visuals, the game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.

Amazing game! I hope they make another one!
Maybe I'm being pessimistic but indie platformers are mostly bad (of course there are exeptions like shovel knight <3) Making a good one is difficult because it needs to be fun, challenging and a good level design. The mecanics of this game is really fun and the levels are designed carefully with no apparent bugs. 6/10
It's cute but plays awkwardly. The wall jumps are bad and the lasers don't always line up quite right. I gave up when I died because a laser clipped through something that should have blocked it, killed me, and made me lose the stars I had collected that level.

Awesome and cute!
GOATED GAME
