the base game is fun but the fact that they lock half the units behind expensive DLCs is not appreciated.
très bon jeu , peu gourmand en performances.
It's a rather shallow game. There's no depth, it's repetitive; it's just about producing units and attacking, plus a little economic management. The mediocre graphics, combined with the DLC hype, make me feel like I've been scammed.
Honestly, for as fun as this is, can't recommend it because the base game is sold for $40 off sale while the base game is barely even a glorified demo. the real cost of the game is whatever it costs to get the DLC.
Pretty fun for what I thought at first was a civ clone, until those darn knife ears killed my baneblade. 10/10 Would get webway-by'd again.
This game is absolutely amazing The factions all feel different, in a way that's different from TableTop but in a good way There's a lot of content here, but -the DLCs for this game are very expensive; thankfully, only the host has to own all of the unit DLCs, but for the factions, you need to own it to play it; definitely buy them at a big sale -Tau are undercooked / kinda just not that fun to play imo, though unit DLCs have progressively made them less painful; again, wait until a big sale before you buy this faction -the AI's difficulty level gives buffs to how many cities they can sustain. That means that for some factions, the difference between difficulty levels will be pretty dramatic, while for others the differences will be much more minor PS mods add even more content and there are a lot of them that are actually really good
This game does one thing exceptionally well that most other 4X games don't. Faction identity. Playing as, or going up against each of the (base, no DLC's yet) factions feels drastically different. And NPC's are quite competent with utilizing their advantages, I'm not sure if I detected any blatant NPC cheating typical of 4X's. Really solid game, it didn't even start lagging/desyncing in the latter game which is very normal of 4X's. Looking forward to getting more factions, particularly Chaos Space Marines in the future.
