I would recommend this game only if you're into multiplayer or don't mind using mods. The MP playerbase is alive, active and Relic Entertainment still releases balance patches. You can even find some up to date guides on openers, build orders or match up specific tactics on youtube .Just be prepared to get smashed for a while because you will likely be matched with veterans. When it comes to modding there are some really fantastic overhaul mods. Unification or Apocalypse are the top tier ones. There are also a bunch of QoL mod packs for the Dark Crusade and Soulstorm campaigns that make them a much better experience. As for the pure, unmodded single player campaign I wouldn't recommend buying this game for that particular reason. The vanilla campaign is ok and serves more as a lengthy introduction to the Space Marine faction. The Winter Assault campaigns are infamous for bad difficulty spikes, heavily scripted events, attack waves and very restricted and curated gameplay. The Dark Crusade and Soulstorm campaigns are a bunch of skirmishes in annihilation mode. That means you need to hunt every enemy structure. Yes I also find it fun to search the entire map for that 1 worker that managed to escape and build 1 structure thus denying me the victory screen. It needlessly prolongs a already won battle. The only unique missions are the stronghold ones and some of them are "interesting" to say the least. Also there are no proper difficulty options. Normal is more like very easy (your troops have literally twice their normal health) and hard is closer to very hard/tedious. So if you're willing to mod the game or play MP I can recommend this at full price. It's relatively cheap (especially if you own the previous editions), the gameplay has aged remarkably well and it's simply fun. If you want a vanilla experience I would recommend other games that do it simply better.
Really good Strategy Game.. It tests your patience
one of the best warhammer 40k games there is do play
Runs so buttery smooth and everything looks great. This is still in my opinion the best RTS out there and this is an excellent remaster. It's also pretty cool that you can also still play the original (anniversary edition) in case you want to relive the old days or compare the two instead of delisting the older version. Definitive Edition indeed.
