War Selection is really one of the best strategy games I’ve played in a long time. Been searching for something like this for what feels like ages and somehow this game managed to scratch an itch I didn't even know I had. Base building, resource management, progression and large scale warfare all together is exactly what I've always wanted from an RTS. There is something so very satisfying about starting with almost nothing, building up your economy, progressing through the various ages, and finally commanding a huge military. For me, the sense of progression is really what makes it special. Each game feels like you are building up to something bigger, and there is always another technology, unit, strategy or objective to work toward. It gets that. What really stands out to me is a sense of progression. Every match feels like you’re building up to something bigger, and there’s always another tech, unit, strategy, or objective to work toward. It does a better job than most games I’ve played of capturing the feeling of building a whole civilization and war machine from scratch. Honestly, I can't remember the last time I played a game that really resonated with me this much. If you are someone who likes strategy games, military history, empire building or just the satisfaction of watching your little starting base grow into a massive army, War Selection is definitely one to try.
Absolute 10/10.
I've been searching for a game like this for years, and War Selection finally scratched an itch that nothing else could.
