It says I've "played" 30 some odd minutes. I haven't "played" it at all. I get a large white screen with some kind of writing about "standing in the red circle" and "Pulling the trigger" but I never see a red circle and when I click my mouse, nothing happens. I don't think this game is complete. I paid for this thing because I love sailing but am currently landlocked; very disappointed. I've installed it three different times, always the same disappointing results.

I like VR for its immersion. Sure, VRsailing is more a demo than an app or game, but it delivers a lot of immersion ─ and contemplation, too. I especially like its night mode and mood. 3D sea and wave rendering has come to an incredible level! Accidentally I found out that I can slow down the boat by turning it so that the moon is at its rear, at 6 o'clock. These are not correct termini, but I'm not a real-life-sailer. Therefore my wishlist (if it is decent to come up with a wishlist for a FREE app?) is different from other people: 1) some sea dwellers, fish, sharks, dolphins, turtles... 2) an option for a less hitech, but more retro-style boat with wooden plankets. (I remember a VR app called «Kon-tiki» , but that must have been in DK1 times...) 3) an API providing telemetry data for my 6 DoF motion platform. However, I'm not sure if I am serious about that. My lust for immersion could come to an end once I get real seasick... But on second thought, it would be really cool!

This VR experience is mind-blowing. So, my first VR sailing game was VR Regatta. And, to be bunt, VRSailing has almost nothing on VR Regatta when it comes to playability, controlls, or, really, "gameplay". You're going to see all there is to see inside a few minutes. But what it DOES have, is immersion. You are THERE. If you're looking for a sailing simulator, get VR Regatta. Its realism toward what it's actually like to control a sailboat is far more on point. You can play against others, there are challenges, and you are in an actual location you can see and sail around. But if you want to feel like you're really on the ocean, VRSailing has VR Regatta beat by several orders of magnitude. And free? Hard to question the value. All it costs is bandwidth. If I want to play a sailing game, it's going to be VR Regatta. If I want to remember what it was like to sail on the San Francisco Bay during Beer Can Races or remember sailing to a small island off the Florida Keys, I'm going to hop into VRSailing for a few minutes.
