For the love of god don't sing while on Spotify unless you want it to pause randomly. Let me first make it clear that this is an ASSIST bot in the sense that it assists you with the simplest tasks. It's not an AI that helps you control your PC. It's a cool software that allows you to simplistically control a lot of programs such as Spotify, Google Chrome, Mozilla, either by coding it yourself or downloading a premade profile from other users. If you are trying to use this software as an AI like Siri, Google or Cortana, there are quite a lot of limitations to using this software. 1. You are not controlling your whole computer but you can only control one software at a time. So if you're working on Google Chrome and have Spotify running on the background, you can't say "next track" for spotify to execute the command. You have to switch to the Spotify program to change to the next track. If you want to control your Google Chrome (new tabs, close tabs, open facebook, youtube etc.), you will have to manually open VoiceBot and load the Google Chrome profile to do so. So one profile at a time, one program at a time. So if you would like to ask Windows to open google chrome, yeah Windows profile can be programmed to have a macro for that, but once Chrome is open, you will have to load Chrome's profile to start controlling it. 2. Voice recognition is kinda terrible.. Trying to open YouTube on Chrome was nearly impossible for me. I sounded like an idiot trying different accents. YouTube for VoiceBot shows "UQ". Trying to open Facebook was "phase boot" for VoiceBot. This is the kind of software that is designed for gaming - a single-program-focused use. A really good software for people with physical disabilities. A software made to focus only for one program, so that certain commands won't clash with Windows commands such as "close" or "exit", hence the way it is designed. However, it seems like there are reviews here where it has helped non-disabled people in gaming in general to execute certain commands just by sound.
It uses Windows's voice recognition which is not good enough.
👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑 🎉 Follow
Don't even bother with this piece of software if you speak English and don't sound like a yank. it can't pickup my Aussie-English accent, and from what I've gathered, there's no plan for adding support for Australian or New Zealand Accents. After many hours of my time wasted, I believe that my time is best spent using the alternative software called "VoiceAttack". I just wish that I could get my money back, as it's a useless program to me, and I'd assume that it'd have other accent support, but nope. Extremely disappointed.
Love this app. I originally bought it years ago, to use when playing Star Trek Online. Just like being the captain in the tv show. I found it useful for many other games since then.
I never saw a voice recognition software so bad. The system is not focusing on the word you want to limit him. so sometime it really never understand
Very buggy software. Only let's you download pre-created profiles, many of which are not in English. Will not load user created profiles. Useless.
Voicebot is a great piece of software that makes gaming much more fun. I have recently switched to Windows 11 which I hate. However, the one good thing about Windows 11 is that Voicebot works really well with it. Voicebot is the only reason I can think of for switching to Windows 11.
You have to give the command several times over like a demented person. Just don't rock back and forth in frustration, if you want to avoid a discussion about your mental health with your housemate. Some of the interpretations of what you are saying are hilariously ludicrous. Like auto-correct on acid for your voice. Not much fun when you're trying to affect the "landing gear" and it insists what you really need is "lantern ears."
I have hundreds of commands over several games, pain-stakingly added into this software. hours - days - of set up and testing, grouping macros, oh you have no idea. Setting up multiple keybinds to combine push to talk and push to mute features for seamless intergration with other apps. All those options, are brilliant, sure. Especially this setup where I have PTT in game on mouse 4, but PTT on M3 for Voicebot, and Push to MUTE on Mouse 3 for discord. it then passes this to another app which pushes mouse 4 for me and runs a soundboard based off the voice command. This means that people in game and discord don't hear my voice commands, but they hear the soundboard activating. its really cool, and I feel clever for having it all set up. BUT it's ability to consistently recognise my speech patterns? TRASH TIER. Great software, great macro, grouping, setup, heaps of great options, but it's no good if it recognises "ten" as "team", "two" as "food" It picks up on about 80% of the words I use, which sucks because I can't use the natural / intuitive words I want to, so I have to either learn unintuitive voice commands, or learn how to pronounce words in a way that the thing might recognise. ♥♥♥♥ this I have THOUSANDS of hours with this app (Steam doesn't count them for some reason) and I'm so frustrated wtih it that I'm writing this while I wait for the Voice Attack demo to download.
