Vivez Versailles

Great concept and I hope they do more development on this experience. Pros: A nice little visit to two scenes in history. High quality rendering of the architecture, and well chosen accurate details. Gives good context and a nice flavor of a few moments in history. Cons: Poor performance, compared to most other VR apps. Yet, people and objects are low quality rendering, which stands out against the otherwise high quality of the architecture rendering. Lack of ability to teleport or explore the scene outside of the pre-arranged guidance (can't even go back)--this is especially frustrating when you want to get a closer look at so many of the details. For the price (free), excellent. But I'd gladly pay a little for a higher quality experience.

ルイ14世時代のベルサイユ宮殿を案内してくれる２０分ほどのツアーガイド。 VRはエデュケーション目的と相性が良いと思う。 英語のガイドだが聞き取りやすくてぐっど。 建物は美しいが、人物のモデリングはちょっとイマイチかな。 人が多い場面は重め。SteamVRの設定で初めから解像度を下げておくのもいいかもしれない。

After trying Versaillesvr I found this and enjoyed my time listening to the audio with scenes enacted around me from a fixed position more of an inspiration as to what could be than a full experience its something i am glad to of tried and will show it to friends and family, ran ok on a rtx 4060.

Le titre de ce logiciel vaguement éducatif, "Vivez Versailles", est assez présomptueux puisque l'expérience proposée consiste en deux séquences de dix minutes nous faisant revivre deux journées versaillaises sous Louis XIV et Louis XV : la visite d'ambassadeurs de Siam (ancien nom de la Thaïlande pour les incultes) dans un premier temps et un bal donné à l'occasion d'un mariage entre deux nobles vachement importants dans un second. Les commentaires en voix off sont trop superficiels pour que l'on puisse vraiment apprendre quelque chose de nouveau et consistant sur le lieu et les moeurs de l'époque. Quant à l'immersion VR dans l'univers du château, elle est sérieusement amoindrie par le statisme graphique de l'ensemble (les personnages ressemblent à des mannequins d'un magasin de vêtements) et l'impossibilité de se déplacer librement. Seule consolation pour moi : faire face à des nobliaux de l'Ancien Régime et glisser mon doigt le long du cou devant eux en susurrant "couic couic" pour leur donner un aperçu de ce qui allait les attendre quelques décennies plus tard.

Free is definitely the right price for this VR experience. The main issue I had was extremely low frame rates. The max frame rate I achieved with an RTX2080 and i9 processor was 45 fps and in some scenes it dropped to the low 30s with a very high reprojection rate no matter what I lowered the supersampling down to. Also, there are no graphic settings. Another issue is that you cannot move at all, so there is no exploration. It's just a couple of quick scenarios listening to the narrator. I can see maybe wanting to experience this once, but no more than that.
