Pretty sure everything is AI generated. (As is stated on the store page too, so dev is up front about it.) Of course, usage of AI doesn't necessarily mean something is hot garbage imo. if used as a tool and still refined by a human's touch, it can be decent. However, that is not really the case here. The art is repetitive and typical AI slop. The menu icons look stretched out. The notes are hard to see as there's no opacity behind them. The game doesn't explain what the cards you earn are for and while it seems they're supposed to collect coins and XP clicking to collect them does nothing. The songs sound AI generated too but they're still nice. The menus are hard to navigate. Has tons of songs, but the list is bloated too because each difficulty for a song is listed as a separate song. The charts do seem to try and make sense with the music, but it's so out of sync it's hard to notice and it makes playing less fun. There's no option to calibrate or change the keybindings. Furthermore, upon starting a song it immediately begins not giving you even a second to place your hands on the keys to start playing. A very very flawed game, that is definitely trying to bait people with anime tiddies as its siren call. I got it for the rhythm game itself, but the rhythm game isn't too stellar either. I did expect that, though. Can't have high expectations for a game that is 59 cents and relies on booba to draw customers, it's the same with almost every other NSFW rhythm game. Not as abysmal though as I'd expected (coming from someone who went in with low expectations, bear in mind.) If they can add calibration it would improve the gameplay drastically and it could actually be sorta fun to play. Ideally opacity and keybinds would elevate it even more to being acceptable. If you wanna try a cheap rhythm game for fun like I did, go for it. Otherwise, pass.
Vituber Melody is a colorful anime-inspired rhythm game that combines virtual idol aesthetics, upbeat music, and casual gameplay into a lightweight experience focused primarily on charm and accessibility. Built around the growing popularity of VTuber culture, the game embraces a cheerful presentation filled with energetic performances, bright visuals, and simple rhythm mechanics designed for relaxed play sessions rather than highly competitive challenge. Instead of trying to compete directly with more mechanically demanding rhythm games, it focuses on delivering an easygoing musical experience centered around style, personality, and fanservice-oriented presentation. The gameplay revolves around completing rhythm stages by matching notes and timing prompts to a selection of energetic electronic and idol-themed songs. The mechanics are intentionally easy to understand, allowing players to jump directly into the music without dealing with overly complex systems or steep learning curves. Inputs remain responsive, note patterns are clearly visible, and the overall design prioritizes comfort and accessibility over punishing difficulty. This makes the game approachable even for players who are not particularly experienced with rhythm titles. One of the strongest elements of Vituber Melody is its visual identity. The game embraces bright anime aesthetics and VTuber-inspired character design with a strong focus on colorful stage performances and expressive animations. Melody herself serves as the centerpiece of the experience, carrying much of the game’s personality through energetic visual presentation and playful idol-style performances. Fans of anime streamers, virtual idols, and Japanese pop culture will likely appreciate the atmosphere far more than players looking strictly for deep rhythm gameplay systems. The soundtrack helps maintain the game’s upbeat tone throughout the experience. Songs lean heavily into electronic pop influences and cheerful idol-style compositions that fit the visual presentation well. The music is energetic enough to keep gameplay entertaining while remaining casual and approachable. While the soundtrack may not be especially large compared to major rhythm franchises, the tracks generally complement the game’s lighthearted style effectively. Another enjoyable aspect is the game’s relaxed pacing. Vituber Melody avoids overwhelming players with highly technical note patterns or extreme difficulty spikes. Instead, it creates a smoother and more forgiving gameplay flow where players can casually enjoy songs, unlock content, and progress through stages without intense pressure. This makes the game particularly suitable for shorter play sessions where players simply want to relax with colorful visuals and upbeat music. The visual presentation during gameplay remains clean and easy to follow. Menus are straightforward, notes are readable even during faster sequences, and stage effects avoid becoming overly distracting. The game clearly understands that its appeal comes primarily from atmosphere and presentation rather than mechanical complexity. Character animations and colorful effects help maintain excitement even when the gameplay itself remains relatively simple. The sound design outside of the music also supports the experience reasonably well. Interface interactions and rhythm feedback provide enough responsiveness to make successful note timing feel satisfying, while the audio synchronization during songs remains smooth enough to maintain immersion. The game succeeds at creating a comfortable musical flow where visuals and gameplay blend together naturally. However, the simplicity of the gameplay eventually becomes one of the game’s biggest limitations. The rhythm mechanics offer relatively little depth compared to larger music game franchises, and the overall structure changes very little throughout extended play sessions. Most songs rely on similar gameplay patterns, which can cause repetition to appear fairly quickly once the initial charm begins to fade. Players searching for advanced scoring systems, highly technical note charts, or competitive challenge may find the gameplay too lightweight to remain engaging long term. The amount of available content is also somewhat limited. The soundtrack selection and progression systems feel relatively modest compared to more established rhythm games, reducing long-term replay value after players complete the available stages. While the presentation remains charming throughout, the game lacks the content variety necessary to sustain extended engagement for players expecting a larger rhythm experience. Another factor that may divide players is how heavily the game depends on its VTuber-inspired identity. Players already interested in anime idol culture and virtual streamer aesthetics will likely enjoy the experience significantly more than those unfamiliar with or indifferent to that style. Much of the game’s appeal comes from its visual personality and thematic presentation rather than from deep gameplay systems alone. The production scale also reflects its smaller indie origins. Animations, interface systems, and visual effects remain fairly basic compared to larger rhythm franchises with bigger budgets. Although the game maintains a bright and energetic style, it lacks the level of polish and feature density expected from more ambitious music titles. Despite these shortcomings, Vituber Melody succeeds at delivering a cheerful and approachable rhythm experience built around anime-inspired presentation and relaxing musical gameplay. The game understands its audience and focuses entirely on providing colorful visuals, accessible mechanics, and a playful atmosphere without overcomplicating the formula. Vituber Melody may not stand out as one of the most technically advanced rhythm games available, but it still offers a fun and charming experience for players who enjoy VTuber culture, anime aesthetics, and casual music gameplay. Its limited content and repetitive structure prevent it from becoming especially memorable over the long term, yet the energetic soundtrack and lively presentation still make it an enjoyable title for fans of lighthearted rhythm experiences. A very fun and amazing rhythm game with anime girls. It has a huge variety of songs with 72 tracks. Excellent diversity of difficulty levels and obtaining evolution cards in the game and a collection archive of these cards. A very creative and different game with lively music. An excellent option for a dance game with anime girls. A game that will enrich your game library. I recommend it. 5-stars game.
