i like style of this game but that last level :o
Villwars is a small-scale strategy title that wears its intentions clearly on its sleeve, offering a streamlined take on territorial warfare that favors immediacy and clarity over dense systems or sprawling complexity. Developed and published by Phoenixxx Games, the game centers on the fundamental thrill of commanding forces and pushing against an opposing faction, distilling the real-time strategy genre down to its most recognizable and accessible elements. From the outset, Villwars makes it clear that it is not trying to compete with large, feature-heavy RTS giants, but instead aims to provide a focused experience built around direct confrontation and quick decision-making. Gameplay revolves around deploying and maneuvering units across compact maps where positioning and timing matter more than long-term economic planning. Rather than juggling extensive resource chains or complex technology trees, players are encouraged to concentrate on the battlefield itself—how units move, where they clash, and when to commit to an offensive push. This design choice gives Villwars a brisk pace, making matches easy to jump into and complete in relatively short sessions. There is a certain immediacy to watching your forces advance, collide with the enemy, and gradually carve a path toward victory that feels satisfying in a simple, almost old-school way. Tactical depth in Villwars is largely rooted in terrain usage and unit placement. Different map layouts subtly influence how engagements play out, with open spaces favoring direct assaults and tighter areas rewarding careful positioning and controlled advances. While the game does not overwhelm the player with numerous unit types or elaborate counters, there is still room for tactical expression through movement, timing, and awareness of enemy behavior. This lighter approach makes the game approachable for newcomers to the genre, though it also means experienced strategy players may quickly grasp most of what the game has to offer. Visually, Villwars adopts a clean and colorful style that prioritizes readability over visual spectacle. Units are easy to distinguish, environments are bright and functional, and battles remain understandable even when multiple skirmishes unfold at once. The presentation reflects the game’s indie scope, lacking the intricate animations or cinematic flair of larger productions, but it succeeds in delivering information clearly to the player. Sound design and music are understated, serving their purpose without drawing too much attention, reinforcing the sense that Villwars is meant to be played comfortably and casually rather than as an intense audiovisual showcase. Progression and replayability are more modest, aligning with the game’s overall philosophy of simplicity. There are fewer long-term systems to master, and the absence of deep customization or branching strategies can lead to a feeling of repetition over extended play. However, for players who enjoy concise strategy experiences that can be enjoyed in short bursts, this can be seen as a strength rather than a weakness. Villwars feels well suited to moments when you want a taste of tactical gameplay without committing to a lengthy or mentally demanding session. In the end, Villwars stands as a clearly defined indie strategy experience that knows its limits and leans into them. It offers a straightforward, easy-to-understand approach to territorial combat that lowers the barrier of entry for players who might otherwise feel intimidated by the genre. While it may lack the depth and longevity to fully satisfy hardcore strategy enthusiasts, it provides a pleasant and functional experience for those who appreciate focused design and uncomplicated tactical play. As a compact RTS with a clear identity, Villwars succeeds in delivering exactly what it sets out to be, even if it leaves some players wishing for a bit more ambition beneath the surface. Rating: 5/10
Very interesting tactical game. At first in seems simple but the complixity begins to increase very quickly. As quickly as time flies when you're playing this game. Thanx to the authors for the soundtrack!
garbage for such a simply rts, therest no 2x, x4 , x8 speed to speed up the non existing gameplay and from the second lvl your alredy at the mercy of the ai bc its basically a stat check game and if u happen to have more camps to spawn troops at start you won/lost
