I wanted to have a secondary voice social space that could be used for motion capture with just a normal webcam and only a low configuration computer. So VChat was born, and it supports both single-user virtual host mode and virtual image voice chatting and dating using network matching mode.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. Copies below reflect the player base, not paid sales.

It's a voice social software for two-dimensional virtual avatars based on the capture of a single camera.
After entering the application, users can set up their own two-dimensional virtual avatars. Subsequently, they can conduct voice chats by matching with other users. During the video chat process, they will use their own two-dimensional virtual avatars.
The application will project users' expressions and movements onto the two-dimensional virtual characters through facial recognition technology, thus enabling voice chat socialization. Users can manipulate the expressions of virtual characters through their own expressions. Briefly speaking, it's similar to the Avatar system. In the movie "Avatar", real bodies are manipulated, while players can manipulate two-dimensional virtual avatars through this application.
It will continue to be developed in the future, and functions such as users' custom uploading of network models will be added.
It also supports the individual anchor mode, the online social mode, and the desktop companion mode.
It supports full-body and half-body motion capture.
You can chat with your friends while playing games, studying.
It supports uploading custom VRM models. (Only pre-made model matching is supported.)

"VChat" is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this software. Instead of being a game, "VChat" is a software application. It's a V-tuber app, and in case you're blissfully unaware what a "Vtuber" is, it's basically middle aged men who use anime girl avatars when running streams that nobody watches. This particular vtuber app is one of the worst ever made, and attempts to be a cringey virtual chat room where the developer can try to pick up on other middle aged men pretending to be anime girls online. It's completely dead, there are no users, so this is also functionless as well as valueless non-game garbage. Creepily, the developer wants your email address so you can use this. That's like, really, really creepy. Whenever a dodgy dev asks for your email address, run. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. Tetris, for example, has a game loop where a random block appears, the gamer interacts with the block to position it, and then the game decides if that finishes a row or not, increases the players score if any rows were completed, then gives the gamer another block to position. Counter-Strike has a game loop where a player seeks another player, tests their skill against that player by shooting them or being shot, the computer rewards the player if they win, and then if the player survives, they repeat that loop. There's no loop here, no true interactive feedback. It simply is not a game, it cannot be "played". This has misleadingly been launched in the "Games" section of Steam instead of the "Software" section. This is a common mistake for developers who are new to Steam, or don't understand the difference between games and software which isn't a game. It seems this software published incorrectly as a game is simply lack of experience/knowledge of the correct process. Here's a link for the process to publish non-game software on Steam: Steam Developer Help With Software Publishing It's unfortunate this process was not known about/followed, resulting in a software application being published in the wrong place. Publishing things which aren't games on Steam in the Games section as games is misleading to gamers and somewhat harmful, because it pollutes the Steam marketplace and takes away visibility and market exposure for genuine game developers who do the right thing and make games for gamers. There are no gameplay loops in this software, no "gameplay", no meaningful game like interaction. It's a software application and as such has no merits as a video game for gamers. Because of this, I cannot recommend this non-game software as a game to gamers.
Developer Response!
The developer has weighed in to inform everyone they didn't read the Developer Usage Rules for Steam "partners", or they deliberately ignored the part where Valve says:
Though it may be tempting, not every review needs to be responded to. A developer response will frequently draw more attention than the original statement, potentially turning a small issue into a much larger community discussion. It's also not a good idea to use this feature to refute customer opinions. Your direct attention can be seen as validation or a defensive attempt to silence your customers.
The developer (a middle aged man who pretends to be an anime girl online) pukes out a bizarre, disjointed response completely filled with equal measure of arrogance, ignorance and outright lies. First, take this application in context... SteamDB shows the peak user count for this application was only THREE people... and that only happened once. We can only presume one of those was the developer itself, and the other two either psychologists or law enforcement officials. Regardless, with a peak user count of 3, for a social media app, is absolute and utter failure. Now, we can better understand the developers unhinged, whining, ranting response. Let's break it down, to better understand why this was such a failure. My review clearly explains, in universally accepted terms, what a game actually is. The "developer" of this garbage agrees that this non-game application contains no game loops, and thus is not a game, yet whines that, uhh, it is because he wants it to be, facts be damned. What disgusting arrogance. Facebook is not a game, it's a social media platform. Correctly, Excel does not have guns, but at no point did anyone try to portray it as a game, it has always been sold as an application. Yet the "developer" likens this utter trash to both, and not at all to any game. Yet insists it's a game, despite admitting it contains no game-like content. What a complete delusion. I point out in my review that Valve offers developers, even crap failed ones like "wk", an opportunity to publish applications in the application section, but "wk" refuses to acknowledge that. Caught doing the wrong thing, instead of admitting his (massive, persistent) failure, he's doubling down on his screwup, and whining constantly about it. The developer whines that because businesses like Facebook require email addresses for social media, his "game" (not a game) should also need you to hand over your email address to him, because he wants your email address. Meta, Alphabet and Valve have literally millions of customers and need to ensure account security. Games (and non-game crap applications) on Steam are already protected by the Steam user account, yet this is not enough for this middle aged man who pretends to be an anime girl online... he MUST have your email address because your Steam account details are not enough for him, he MUST stalk both of the people who used this crap V-tuber non-game that allows middle aged men to pretend to be anime girls online (which is what he does). Nothing in the developers pointless breach of Valve guidelines changes any of the objective facts of my review. My review stands unaltered. I cannot recommend this garbage zero user social media application (non-game) to anyone.
