Up in the Air is a zany, open-world game made by students at SMU Guildhall. You play as a balloon dog exploring a demented carnival populated by crazy children using a variety of power-ups, like water balloons and ground pound, to fend the kids off and collect carnival tickets.

"Up in the Air" is a student project from the SMU Guildhall game school, and the students failed this year. It's an open world action/adventure/sandpit kind of game where you run around as a balloon animal. The graphics are pretty bad here and the gameplay isn't great, I've seen much higher quality stuff from that school. This is not their best work, and the lazy approach to the game assets makes this come across as a lazy asset flip or some other kind of joke game... I guess students should be taught that game development is a serious endeavour and that isn't what happened here. This features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and it's clear the developers behind this didn't understand that. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections that gamers expect to have, which is also highly problematic. Developers must learn they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I had my cat walk over the keyboard while the EULA was displaying, which fixed that problem for me. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 11 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.

I enjoyed this to begin with but at about 90 minutes in the issues piled up to much, the game is labelled as "An achiever's dream with dozens of challenging mini-games" but the achievements are really broken making it more of a nightmare for a completionist, the general game play and mechanics were fun though and it was a fairly relaxing play for the start. Difficulty ☐ Tell My Wife I L... ☐ Engage the gamer position ☐ A Chill Challenge ☑ Are we still on the tutorial? ☐ Easier than regretting the amount of hours I have on Dota The difficulty is fairly easy, the hardest thing being the pathing of the children mobs when trying to put them in the rides, once you unlock the inflate skill you can basically play the entire game floating around should you chose to play that way. Enjoyment ☐ Absolute euphoria ☐ Worth your time ☑ Its aight ☐ Beats day time TV ☐ Ayoo there's paint drying over there Reviewing based of my first hour, yes the game was fun, the variety of mini games were short enough to not get boring, they are fairly simple tasks but spread out across a free roaming map with collectables and interactions kept it from falling flat. But after the issues piled up I lost a bit of motivation and became more frustrated, if your enjoyment is aided by achievements and your thinking about picking this game up for that purpose I wouldn't Quality ☐ Even better than oddly satisfying hydraulic press videos at 2am ☐ B-E-A-Utiful ☐ No complaints ☑ Janky but manageable ☐ GET THE BUG SPRAYYYYYYY For a single playthrough and if you dont care for achievements then this game is fine, the mechanics work, the mini games mostly work and its a bit of fun, however on the other hand, a couple of mini games simply wouldn't complete especially the golf, I had 4 golf games that I had completed and the golf ball wasn't respawning which indicates completion but the map still showed them as non complete with no way to fix this, I couldn't stop the rides once starting them making it extremely difficult to put anyone on them, multiple achievements are not working, I have 4 related to skins that I cant unlock despite getting the skins and having the achievement for having all skins so that's quite frustrating, also one for getting the inflate power up as well as getting every ticket which in hand with the golf and other mini games not working is impossible to complete. I did reload the game in the hopes I could reset/try again at these achievements to 100% the game but was sad to see that it somewhat reset my progress with the whole map now showing as incomplete but still had my accumulated currency from my previous play, I then decided since it has reset me I would fully reset via the settings and I again bought the inflate power up and still didn't get the achievement. As far as recommending I feel I have to say no, the game is free and that aides it a lot but being described as "An achiever's dream" and with achievements being incompletable I just cannot recommend, if you dont care about 100%ing then by all means the game is worth your time, you'll have it completed in roughly 1-2 hours or at least as much as your able to so its not a time sink and is fairly fun.
se creo mucho tiempo del 2024

playing this while being high is funny af
