Unturned bewies eindrucksvoll, dass ein grandioses Survival-Erlebnis keine fotorealistische Grafik braucht. Der charmante Block-Look erinnert zwar an Minecraft, doch dahinter steckt eine knallharte, extrem motivierende Zombie-Apokalypse mit tiefgängigen Gameplay-Mechaniken. Das Spiel glänzt durch seine enorme Vielseitigkeit. Das Crafting-System ist komplex, das Gunplay fühlt sich überraschend präzise an, und das Erkunden der verschiedenen offiziellen und von der Community erstellten Maps macht süchtig. Ob Basenbau, Fahrzeug-Modifikationen oder intensive PvP-Gefechte – die spielerische Freiheit ist riesig. Dank der gigantischen Integration des Steam Workshops gibt es zudem unendlich Nachschub an kostenlosen Mods, Maps und Server-Modi. Ein kleiner Kritikpunkt ist die Performance, die trotz der simplen Grafik auf vollen Servern manchmal einbricht. Zudem kann der Einstieg für Solo-Spieler auf öffentlichen PvP-Servern durch erfahrene Clans sehr frustrierend sein. Fazit: Für ein komplett kostenloses Spiel bietet Unturned mehr Inhalt, Updates und Spielspass als viele teure Vollpreistitel. Ein absoluter Pflichttitel für Survival-Fans
