Until the Last Plane 1942

A neat little shmup where you control two planes simultaneously. It's quite basic, the planes autofire, and all you do is move, grab powerups, and occasionally bomb things. Nice retro-styled graphics. As a co-op game (local co-op included), I can't see this being a very hard game, but as a single player game, the difficulty is a little higher than you might imagine. No regrets here. For free, I got the better part of an hour of entertainment, and will probably play this again at some point.

Until the Last Plane 1942 is an okay casual top-down shooter, now this is the part where I talk about the story but there is no story, you're just a couple of fighter pilots fighting the bad guys. So let's just get into the likes, the gameplay is good, it's pretty simple fly around, dodging enemy projectiles and destroying enemies as you pick up little items that when you collect enough of you get to upgrade your plane. You can also increase or decrease the difficulty or how long the whole levels are again nothing too complicated; there is something unique about the gameplay though instead of controlling one plane you control two planes simultaneously, but I didn't really care for that and I'll explain it in the dislikes. The graphics are good it has a nice classic retro look to it. The levels were serviceable; nothing really to talk about just big stretches of lightly detailed areas. The music was good; the old school arcade/action music fits well for this game. I also like how the game was free since this game is a bit on the short side. So let's just get into the dislikes, I would have liked a little story for this game, even if it’s just explaining why we're doing this, even if the story is it's a simple your Mr badass and you must stop the bad guys or whatever. Now as I have said in gameplay you can control two planes simultaneously, the problem with that is that it can be difficult to manage the two planes because if one plane falls it's game over and it's hard to pay attention to both of them and control them when the game becomes a bit more bullet hellish, thankfully you can put one plane to the side of the screen and just focus with the other, but still it was annoying and what made it worse is there is no way to play with just one plane you have to play with two. Okay then now that you've been told all this Until the Last Plane 1942 is an okay casual top-down shooter, it has good gameplay, good graphics and good music. So do I recommend this game if you're looking for a casual time waster this could be for you, plus it's free so you're not hurting your wallet.

Quick and fun. This is the arcade-style shooter of my youth. No quarters necessary either.

Just like like Vampire Survivors, but way better cause it's free and it has aircrafts
