Underground where it belongs..
Yeah no; don't bother. Take any old school card battler, take away all the charm that it had and replace it with borderline AI art divided into factions with an arbitrary theme and names. I don't know if you would call it 'art' even cause it's just very simplistic characters with little to no background. And that can be said for pretty much the entire game from it's UI to whatever features and mechanics it utilizes. For starters it seems to load super slow where even trying to assemble a deck took me a full 5 minutes to even see that I had any cards in my collection. And any other interaction in the menu takes a few seconds after clicking before it actually does something, and mind-boggingly this even stretches into it's combat system where you're just sitting watching a screen with no context and seeing numbers go up or down as the game calculates the matchup between cards/units. Little to no explanation is given on what certain traits do and you're just left to wonder whatever they could mean by their vague naming. I can't remember the last game that turned me off this quick. And to be fair it was to be expected from just looking at the screenshots on the storepage that there wasn't much to be found. But seriously, for a so-called TCG; the fact that the 'cards' have no visual charm whatsoever or even anything that would remotely make sense such as the ATK being indistinguishable from the DEF number (besides their positioning) is just extremely questionable. The game assaults your eyes with bright colors on the cards to indicate their faction where I would think some people would probably easily mistaken it for rarity. And it takes away and and all the excitement for even opening new packs cause you have literally no idea what you just got unless you have studied the in-game wiki and know all the different factions and their respective units or traits. For a collectible card game that in itself is a big red flag for me. The thought of why anyone would even consider to spend real money to buy packs in this game is beyond me. Cause obviously these card collector games come with their obligatory micro-transactions to get booster packs and the likes; and the pricing is pretty absurd to say the least. I realize I haven't delved deeply into the game's mechanics as for one, there is very little to be said about it with it's basic explanations and descriptions. Two, I do not have the mental capacity to go through the mess of the neon bright lights janky menus and learn it properly. And three, anyone can try it themselves for free with how little space this game takes; even though for this quality, 700-800 MB I find a bit too much still. If the store page is not enough to scare someone off, then neither should be my review cause personally I think the former captures the spirit of the game quite perfectly. The game has Japanese voices for some reason when the units go to battle, though I can't tell if they were made specifically for this game, or if they were just spliced from random places. I wouldn't praise it either way and I just can't think of anything this game has that could be of any redeeming quality unless your standards are extremely low to begin with. For the brave souls that do dare to step and enter into whatever this game has to offer, bear in mind you'll have to create a separate new account as you can't just login with your Steam account. And the verification e-mail may go directly to your junk which is not far from the truth. The developers describe the content like this: Reveling Outfits There you go; 'reveling' outfits that reveal exactly how little substance and charm this game and it's 'cards' carry. My take on it is to just put the game out of it's misery and bury these TCG Waifus six feet Underground.

I recommend trying it. Then I recommend running away. The gameplay is surprisingly refreshing, and while it seems mostly random, strategy is what wins games. I loved it. The waifus part is just cringe How do you do fellow g@m3rz, but for some reason, the girls look like they've been made by an actual person who kinda failed to draw real soulless big-chested creatures that one could call "AI art" like all the other NFT games, making it pathetic and sympathetic at the same time. The UI is minimalistic but works well, and the sound design is more than fine. My biggest complaint would be the lenght of animations that really makes battles slow. Voicelines plus effects are too much. That being said, the game isn't fun and shouldn't last more than a week : - Extreme p2w. Quite fun in fair fights where strategy is still the win condition, but someone who opened 10 boosters (obtainable after winning 1 game) will crush a noob, and someone who got a couple legs or rarer will crush those who farmed boosters (I opened about 30-50, only got 3 legendaries). - S T A M I N A. I know it's about waifus, but I'm not here for edging. Stamina is atrocious, I just have to constantly think about it and it's not fun. Also very wise incentive to not keep players playing on Steam release. - NFTs. Disabled on steam, but the website allows to mint some stuff. Why are NFTs a bad thing? Because this is a tool of speculation. The only dudes who will dump crypto in are those who expect to get more in return, usually causing some fake hype and ultra-toxic community mood. The real reason that made me not thumb down : Even the most delightful waifu in there is no match with the sound effects of the keys as I typed my spamboxemail. Easily the best NFT-related game I ever played. Give viability to f2p, remove stamina, shorten animations in combat and I'd easily enjoy it.
"Underground Waifus TCG" is yet another garbage mobile app scam with an in-game cash shop, as once more mobile devs try to scam PC gamers with P2W mechanics. This badly written card games has pictures of anime girls (probably stolen off the internet), and also it's apparently broken as the developers ripped the back end servers. And they don't want to use Steam authentication because that makes it harder for them to scam gamers. This has some really mediocre looking graphics that will understandably be a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarly visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. This isn't really free as the game is infested with mobile app store like microtransactions. This is a consumer hostile model that we don't need to see on PC. It's deceptively priced to gouge gamers, and that's a reason in itself to avoid this. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 7 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.
Epic "old school" gaming experience, reminiscent of Urban Rivals (easy to play, hard to master), with a nostalgic touch and the spicy addition of some fantastic Waifus. I've been eager to find a worthy successor to the game that provided me with countless entertaining hours.
I know I know not much time spent on the game at all for a review but honestly this was that bad for me. Now Tbf all this stuff could be improved or perhaps somehow my own misunderstanding so try the game yourself and see if what I say here is also your views. 1st point is several times I've searched for a game finding no one, New game so I understand player rate maybe small right now but if there is no one to play with of course nothing much I can do to have fun with the game. There is bot matches at least so that's a thumbs up. 2nd When I did find players they either were way above my Elo who clearly understood the game better and won everytime, or they were people who didn't get the game at all using 0 energy for every fight. This leads to a very bad Pvp experience. 3rd This game is not very intuitive for new players hence why I think I see such differences. However I do see the skill of managing energy becoming a good. 4th This goes back to those high Elo players they can offer a rematch? Just to beat you again? No thanks. Also I ran into the same player after waiting sometime to rejoin. 5th Does the store really have one pack for £250? And a selection of single packs all costing way to much? I just don't get who's spending this much on a single pack. The fact they are expecting someone to spend that much in one single transaction on a brand new game that let's be real could fail hard is just absurd. I get that it has a F2P format going on but if I wanted to enter the Paid Formats this is how much the game is asking for already. 6th This is going to be my last point, I have many more but I have to stop somewhere now I never got into this situation as I for sure didn't play that many games but is there seriously a limit on how many games you can play? There seems to be a energy system that gets refreshed every hour I think and yeah I did see them gone down as I play If that hits 0 and you have to wait for new energy that's ridiculous. Just let people play when they want, why is there a limit? And there is a thing on cards saying 12 games until countdown do.. I even want to know what that means? Is there some lock system that stops you using certain cards after that many cards. Once again I didn't play enough to find out so speculation but if that's the case that's such a negative and makes me not want to bother becoming a long time player. You shouldn't feel limited with how many games you can play. If this is not how it works just forget I even mentioned it lol. Conclusion I really wouldn't recommend it right now however for the sake of increasing player counter and giving the game a chance to improve on stuff I would recommend this. But I have a feeling other people will have similar experiences that are just going to turn us away from this game. So do try it to see if you feel the same way or not.
A dark window into what TCGs would be like if they were created by folks with 0 passion, talent, creativity, and common sense.
