I have absolutely 0 idea what i'm doing but i did something good. this weird little game is strange but enjoyable. I found myself saying "what is this game??" so many times it. there is some lore in it that i have no idea about but i think i'm getting somewhere? this game is worth the run-through and it is free so I'd say to give it a shot. don't expect to understand anything though

It's like someone crossed Vampire Survivor-esque gameplay with 5x game speed. The POV is you're the Amogus trying to go Doomguy on the imposters. I like it.

I've played worse. But this just doesn't feel right. The shooter portion, you have stats that don't seem to mean anything, and eventually some weapon purchases that do, once you figure out to hit number keys until it highlights at the top. I was having a lot more fun with the railgun once I actually equipped it. Until it randomly decided to switch to the scattergun and I have no idea what I might have bumped. There is no key binding list or options to rebind. Quitting or switching to the "Ky Fragment" mode requires you to be dead. The Ky Fragment... welp, you have your 1 science nerd, and you drag voidlings onto him to feed him, and after digesting, there's an electric symbol, which releases technicolor pollen that powers up the tree. If there's any benefit to matching voidling symbols to science guys, I could never prove it. Seemed light a straightforward system, got a clutch of science guys powering the tree, some wildlings fetching better quality voidlings to make 'em poop out bigger lightning symbols with more pollen... and a... pink... Thing that does absolutely nothing, but you can only have the one. And then I save up for the 4th symbol. Which opens a store page to one of the dev's other games. I chuckled. Did some more shooting... well... dying constantly, until I see the voidlings stat block is charged with lightning, and clicking it and saying "yes"... uh... gained me many levels? Advanced the story a bit, unlocking the option to... fill out a collectible list. K... back to the fragment, tried the 4th option again. Got... the same store link. And a sinking feeling that this may not be a real game, but just a joke advert. I came in looking for something weird and playable and 2.5 hrs rolled by pretty quick. And I'm not touching it again. This is very pretty, very minimalist... did have the sound bug out when playing but not in menus, which was weird... seemed to fix itself, that's the worst bug. But it doesn't feel good to play, and you die faster and faster... and the farming mode having a "payoff" of recommending I play a different game altogether? That's an anti-reward. If it had unlocked something, that would have been great, I'd be pleased. Instead, I wasted my time to charge up an advert twice? Nope. Buh-bye.
