Twin Cores

Highly recommended. A great taste of what could be. This is essentially one level, but a really good one with different mechanics at play as you progress towards the final boss. Great graphics, smooth combat and an intense pace make this a thrilling ride. For free, it's hard to fault this brief but exciting battle.

Разрешение максимум 720, пару раз переключился между режимом fullscreen и windowed, и изображение вообще стало пиксельным, а игра неверно определяет положение курсора. Сброс настроек не помогает, видимо, игру нужно переустанавливать или удалять где-то кэш

"Twin Cores" is a weird rail shooter (remember that old obsolete genre?) that needs two players to play, because it relies on co-op gimmicks like "merging" both spaceships, switching positions and so on... but ultimately this isn't a full game, it's like a tech demo, student project/portfolio showpiece or something. As always, gamers are here for games, not tech demos, projects, portfolio showcases, etc etc. The game is quite short, and can be run through in just a few minutes. The lack of content here makes it hard to suggest it's worth spending the time to add to your library and download. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. Insultingly, the developer insists that you should play this with a console peasant children's toy gamepad instead of KB+M. You cannot play this without a console peasant children's toy. Developers should try to be aware which platform they're designing games for. It's the responsibility of the developer to ensure the game runs well on the platform they're selling it on, with the primary peripherals that PC gamers use. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. As an advertisement, this is only free in the same way that adverts on Youtube and banner ads in your browser are. This is a game demo that's been dumped on Steam to advertise another Steam store page in the hopes of raking in some cash. Just because advertisements are free, doesn't mean they're worth your time. It's important to understand there's a formal process to create a demo/page for a game which hasn't been followed here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/application/demos While it might seem like an inocuous mistake, publishing demos and advertisements as if they are full games is misleading and in some ways harmful. This advertisement is taking up marketing space and visibility that would be better made available to a developer that's done the right thing and created a full game. Instead, that visibility is given over to a demo/advert that's been published incorrectly and is polluting the marketplace. It's unclear if this mistake was made through incompetence or a deliberate intent to mislead gamers. Often developers may choose to incorrectly publish demo/advertisements as separate games as a cheap way to bypass paying Valve for marketing presence on the Steam front page, which may seem clever to them, but it's harmful behaviour and it's not good for gamers. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at [b]only 8 concurrent players[/b]... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? What's the verdict? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.

Игра 'Twin Cores' - это захватывающий платформер-головоломка, в котором вы управляете двумя персонажами одновременно. Оригинальная механика с взаимосвязанным перемещением и способностями создает уникальные и сложные головоломки, требующие не только скорости, но и стратегического мышления. Визуальный стиль минималистичен, но приятен глазу, а саундтрек отлично дополняет атмосферу. По мере прохождения уровни становятся все более изобретательными и сложными, что может немного расстраивать, но чувство удовлетворения от решения особенно приятно. В игре хватает контента, чтобы увлечь на несколько часов, а сложные уровни побуждают к повторному прохождению для улучшения результата. Не хватает разве что более глубокого сюжета или разнообразия в способностях персонажей, но в целом это отличная игра для любителей жанра, предлагающая свежий и интересный опыт. Рекомендую!
