TRUEM is an indie racing game that sets out to strike a balance between accessible driving and a more grounded sense of vehicle physics, presenting itself as a thoughtful alternative to purely arcade-style racers. Developed and published by HOLGEAR GAMES, the title embraces a minimalist, low-poly visual style while placing its primary focus on how cars feel to drive rather than on flashy presentation or cinematic spectacle. From the outset, it is clear that the developers aimed to create a game where learning control, understanding momentum, and improving consistency are more important than simply holding the accelerator and reacting at the last second. The game offers a varied selection of cars drawn from different automotive eras, each designed to feel distinct in handling and performance. Older vehicles tend to feel heavier and less forgiving, while more modern machines respond more sharply to steering and acceleration. This contrast encourages experimentation and helps prevent the garage from feeling like a collection of cosmetic reskins. Combined with a range of environments—including traditional circuit tracks, straight-line drag sections, and open areas suited to drifting—the game provides multiple ways to engage with its driving model. These different settings push players to adapt their approach, rewarding those who take the time to understand how each car behaves under different conditions. Progression in TRUEM is structured through a career-style mode that organizes races and challenges into a clear sequence. Rather than overwhelming players with complex systems, the career path focuses on steady improvement, unlocking new events as performance improves. This structure gives a sense of purpose to repeated races, encouraging players to refine lap times, improve control, and gradually tackle more demanding challenges. Alongside this, free-play options allow for practice or casual driving without pressure, making the game approachable for players who simply want to enjoy the act of driving. Handling is where TRUEM attempts to define itself. Cars respond to braking, steering, and throttle input with a noticeable sense of weight transfer, requiring players to think about timing rather than relying on constant maximum speed. While the physics model is not as intricate as that found in full-scale simulators, it offers enough nuance to reward smooth driving and penalize careless inputs. This middle ground makes the game accessible to newcomers while still providing a satisfying learning curve for players who enjoy improving their technique over time. Visually, the low-poly art style is clean and functional, prioritizing clarity and performance over realism. Tracks are easy to read at high speeds, and the simplified environments reduce visual noise, helping players focus on racing lines and braking points. While the presentation lacks the spectacle of larger racing titles, it reinforces the game’s identity as a focused, mechanics-driven experience. Audio design complements this approach with serviceable engine sounds and environmental cues that support immersion without drawing excessive attention to themselves. Overall, TRUEM feels like a sincere and evolving racing project built around the fundamentals of driving rather than excess features. Its strengths lie in its handling philosophy, variety of driving scenarios, and straightforward progression system, making it an appealing option for players who want a lightweight racing game with a touch of realism. At the same time, its limited content and modest production values mean it is best approached with measured expectations. For players who appreciate indie racers that emphasize feel and experimentation over scale and polish, TRUEM offers a solid foundation and a driving experience that rewards patience and practice. PUNTOS A MEJORAR. 1.
