I first got into Ghost Recon Wildlands back in 2020. At the time, I was playing it on an HP Omen 4 Plus, and the experience was excellent. The story was, in my personal opinion, very high quality, and the best part was that I could keep playing co-op with my friends. Even after finishing the main content, it was still a lot of fun as a casual game.
Later, I switched to a different Steam account, which is the account I am using now. This year, I saw that these Ubisoft games were discounted during the Steam Summer Sale, so I wanted to recommend the game to my friends. I downloaded it again, hoping to play together with them.
Unfortunately, the game gets stuck on an endless loading screen immediately after the startup logo disappears, which is extremely disappointing. Most solutions online simply tell players to disable the CPU's E-cores. However, due to the limitations of my ROG Strix Scar 9 Plus with an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX, I cannot fully disable the E-cores and can only reduce them to a minimum of four.
I have also tried every software-level workaround I could find. None of the adjustments available through Process Lasso or CoreDirector were able to get the game running properly. My guess is that EAC protects the game process before initialization and prevents these tools from changing its CPU affinity or core allocation, but whatever the exact reason is, none of these methods work.
I am not going to disable EAC just to test it, either. Even if that allowed me to launch the game, disabling EAC would prevent me from playing online. Since co-op is the main reason I play this game, being able to launch it without online functionality would be completely pointless to me.
Ignoring the performance loss for a moment, this should not be the player's responsibility in the first place. Why has Ubisoft not properly optimized the game for newer CPU architectures? If they are still putting the game on sale and encouraging new players to buy it, then they should also maintain it properly.
As of the time of writing, I still cannot play the game at all.
On top of that, Watch Dogs 2 also crashes after the latest NVIDIA App overlay finishes loading. Seeing multiple older Ubisoft games become unplayable on modern hardware is honestly very disappointing.
If you are using an AMD CPU, you may still be able to buy and play the game normally, and in that case I can recommend it. However, Intel Core Ultra users should be very cautious before purchasing.

暂且不提性能损失的问题，这本就不该是玩家要承担的责任。为什么育碧没有针对较新的 CPU 架构对游戏进行妥善优化？既然他们仍在打折促销并鼓励新玩家购买，就应该做好相应的维护工作。
截至本文撰写之时，我仍然完全无法运行这款游戏。
此外，其育碧的看门狗2在最新版NVIDIA应用叠加层加载完成后也会崩溃。看到多款较旧的育碧游戏在现代硬件上无法游玩，说实话真的非常令人失望。
如果你是一个AMD CPU用户，那么你应该可以购买并且游玩，这点我是推荐的。。但是，英特尔Core Ultra用户在购买前应三思，你要是喜加一就当我没说。
