Fun but short

"Tiny Stories: Santa Closes" is a short demo, a point and click short story about Christmas, Santa and suicide. It's short, unambitious, and badly presented, with a bunch of badly written, contrived humour and not much else going for it. It failed to garner any significant interest from gamers. What do you do in the game? Point and click stuff, move around, unravel the badly written story and keep a straight face through the flat and unfunny jokes. The game is quite short, and can be run through in just 15 minutes or less. The lack of content here makes it hard to suggest it's worth spending the time to add to your library and download. On the important subject of visuals, this features fairly low quality stylised/cartoony low poly 3D graphics. It comes across as the kind of thing you see on mobile phones and Nintendo games, which will deter a lot of PC gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and to be considered one of the best games on Steam, the graphics have to be some of the best on Steam. That's not happening here. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. Most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's usually some kind of monetisation, from nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, to any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable, or something you might want to spend your time on. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 12 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? What's the verdict? I think you should give this one a miss. Although it's free, your time and storage are valuable resources, and the market is filled with superior options.
I found this game through a random steam game generator (the one Markiplier used in a couple videos) and it was a lucky pull I'd say! It's not mind-blowing, but it has charm. I like all the wordplay used in the solutions, and I'm impressed they were able to do this in multiple languages. The art and the sounds the characters make are cute too. It took me under 10 minutes, so unless the darker themes are a trigger for you
(tw: suicide)
, there's really nothing to lose giving this free game a shot.
This game left me flabbergasted
un banger tout simplement !
TROP PIPOU
This is a short, funny, yet gruesome game. Love the artwork! I am interested in seeing more. I played 12 minutes.
The best part was to play the game in both French and English and see how the puns had been translated. Clever.
